10/10 would recommend
I love this book so far and I’m almost finished with it! I’m not usually a big reader, but this one, along with Ikigai, has really kept me engaged. I find myself jotting down quick notes for tips and recommendations the author shares, so I can try them out when I visit Japan. The author also references many other books and concepts that I’m excited to explore. I especially appreciate the recommended readings at the end. It’s been a great read! Will definitely gift this to friends and family. 10/10 recommend. The main themes I gathered are to live in the here and now and to be more mindful of the present. Each moment is unique and can only happen once, so it’s important to fully appreciate and engage with the present. The book has a lot of short stories / I like that.

Love this book! Great reminder to be present
We hear all these suggestions in the world about being present. And they're all great. But after returning from a trip to Japan, I really connected with this book. You don't have to have traveled there to get the thinking here. But for me, it was more connective. A fast read, but I am reading it over and over b/c I forget stuff almost instantly. Worth buying

comfy and cozy
The book was helpful for mindfulness. I’m not the most patient person but this book made me feel like slowing down can be possible for me. It was also very informative on traditional aspects and people that inspired certain sections of the book

Good seller
Ichigo Ichie is an excellent resource that tries to deal with a difficult subject of being happy with yourself and in harmony with everything that surrounds you. It does a great job of guiding you through the pros and cons of life choices that determine your ultimate success. However, my only criticism is that the authors spend too much time quoting and documenting footnotes to legitimize their whole purpose for writing this book. I think what we should take away from this book and his other books is that in spite of the randomness and chaos that may challenge our happiness, is that we are the only ones who must choose how we categorize and prioritize all events in our life. We give it, it's importance and significance. We learn to cherish those events worthy of storing in our collective memory or discarding it as unimportant. You are the only person who can determine by choosing those moments which you want to cherish and hold dear to your heart.

Great read to shift negative thought patterns
I enjoyed reading this book and It’s a pretty quick read. I’d recommend for anyone looking to remain present. I got to took away mantras to motivate that “Just do it” mindset and ways to combat thoughts of doom.

It was interesting, but not mindblowing.
I was assigned this book for a class of human behavior and the great praise from the teacher really got me curious about this philosophy. Even thought it taught me some things that I hadn’t encountered before, if you’re mildly familiar with the Buddhas path and Zen Buddhism, most of the lessons taught here will be a repeat of the same formula: keep yourself in the present.
