this hero makes you want to start watching hockey...
A stand alone read with a HEA. The story is set around a professional hockey player and the heroine is a school teacher with a bit of a mother complex forced on her. Personally, I liked the story. I don't know squat about hockey so I had no idea if it was the right league or not, etc. I just know they are big guys and they are tough., Frankly I have never liked to watch hockey because it does seem so brutal. But it is a bunch of guys with sticks so what can you expect. I LIKED this guy. He was big, sexy, etc. Like every other human being on this planet he had his issues. It was easy to understand that he still suffered from a teacher telling him he was stupid. Plus no one really knew much about his condition and just acted on the idea that he was a bad kid. It was easy to see why he hated teachers and school. Sad, but happens every day.The heroine is a school teacher and a good one. From a very early age she was the sole caregiver to her two younger siblings. She got so caught up in taking care of them that she thought of herself as their mother rather than their older sister. She devoted her life to making sure they had a good life. While doing that, she raised two rather selfish, self-centered siblings that took advantage of her and played on her sympathy to get what they wanted rather than becoming responsible adults. These two are a very unlikely pair but they seemed to make it work. The sex was about an 8 1/2 on a scale of 1-10 so if that is a problem for you, be warned. One thing to keep in mind, this guy was raised with 3 brothers, all big, hockey players. He has been able to get women anytime, anywhere and he didn't even have to work for it. So, being a man's man his language is not going to be that of an English teacher, so he does use the f word a lot but it fits his character. If you have a problem with that, be warned. There is a bit of drama and these two go back and forth as to whether this relationship will work or not. Dealing with the fame and the money would be hard for a young woman that has never been in the spotlight and barely makes it from payday to payday. It is a good story, I thought. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend it.SPOILER---One thought and that is all it is. I wish they model had lied and they didn't have to deal with her. Would have made for a better ending to me. But that is just me.I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/7/17

3.75 stars.
I liked this story but won't re-read or continue on with the series. The H is a pro hockey player and the h is a teacher. They meet at a club and spend the night together. The next time they see each other is at her school, at a function he and a couple teammates are helping with. He doesn't like teachers because of how he was treated as a child. She doesn't like that he's rich, famous, and has paparazzi following him around. She feels that she's boring and he's out of her league. This book has ex drama, sibling drama, relationship drama, indecisiveness, etc. This book is good enough to read once.

Just No.
Sooo depressing. Just painful. Had the makings of a good story, but too many characters were petty, and too many lacked any moral compass. Summary- Female lead devotes her life to raising her siblings after her parent's death. Siblings are now 18 and 20ish. Her parents left behind a house, not money so she has been financially supporting all of them on her teacher's salary since she graduated from college. The little sister moves out to live with a guy that is a jerk and she thinks he is cheating on her, so she moves back home. The guy says come back, and she says ok and does. The brother is a college freshman, and the older sister is paying for his schooling He is drinking too much and sleeping through exams. The female lead meets a hockey player and says hey I want to live a little, let's have a fling. Long story short, he broke up with his last girlfriend because she was into his status not into him. The ex keeps trying to get him back. Finally, the ex says oops, I am pregnant. Birth control failed. Mind you, I am still smoking, and a Victorias Secret model, so I refuse to eat as I will gain weight. He accepts her news and does not ask for paternity testing. He tells her he will co-parent and offer financial support only. Her reply? "Well, I guess that's one more good thing about sleeping with a jock. Not much intellectual stimulation. but you've got a great body and at least you've got lots of money." The female leads younger siblings demand she sell the family house as they want the money from it to support the bad decisions they want to keep making like the sister buying a house with the cheating boyfriend and brother blowing money on travel and vacations. She sells the house because they make her and she moves into a little one bedroom. She agrees to stay with the boyfriend, who is saddled with a self-centered, nasty baby mom now. THE END. Ummm? What??? I read romance to escape. Good did not triumph over evil. No one had karma/consequences for their actions. Can I unread this now, please? SO annoyed I wasted my time on this.

Time for some changes
I liked the hot bedroom action. The one thing his agent or lawyer would have insisted on would have been a Paternity test. That that was never brought up Was disappointing. He needs Or needed Some better advice. She was so smart but she didn't think of it either.I would have liked Defined Ending But I did enjoy the book none the less.

Great chemistry!
Remi Buchanan feels a bit lonely now that her two siblings have moved out. Since the death of their parents when she was very young, Remi has raised them as her own. When her best friend tells her to live a little and go out on the town, Remi decides, why not. At the bar they end up in, there is a group of men in suits that are all extremely handsome. Deciding a one night stand is what she needs, Remi makes a move. When Jase Heller is approached by a beautiful pixie of a woman, he is instantly drawn to her, surprised since he usually goes for the tall, all legs and large breasted women. They actually hit it off and what starts as a one night stand turns into many more. Then Jase shows up at her school to promote fitness, and they each find out what the other one does for a living. Remi doesn’t feel she fits in his world of glamorous women. Jase has always said he would never date a teacher, after what they put him thru growing up. So now what? What a story
This read got you involved straight away with Remi and her story and then she met Jase . These two should not have gelled but they did. Loved how they got to know each other. The ending was different but I'm this word perhaps more realistic

Loved it!
I don't read a lot of sports romance, but as this one wasn't too centered around the minutiae of Hockey, I kept up! I liked the main characters and found the story to be real in the sense that the hero was left with baggage from his previous life, and not everything was tied up in a neat little package.Happy ever after came for the protagonists and I can't wait to read about the brothers!Kelly Jamieson is a new author for me and this will not be the last book I read of hers.

Okay
Remi has looked after her siblings for years and now that they are out the house her friends to take her out to have some fun. She meets Jase and they hook up. Through her school encouraging kids to read and endorsing that with sports people from the community, Remi and Jase reconnect. Their relationship however is not smooth with crazy pregnant exes, childhood issues and siblings thrown in the mix.

Fabulous read
I came across this book by chance, as one of the recommended reads by Amazon and boy, am I glad I took it up and read it. I really enjoyed this book, love the main characters, Jason and Remi. Remi is just the heroine I would gladly cheer on: strong, responsible and very loving,I just love her.Jason is just the sort of hero I like, a big, handsome hockey player. Can't recommend this book highly enough. If you are looking for a quick, sweet and hot sports romance, try this book!

Hot romance and Home truths
This was a winner for me. Loved Remi’s character, determination and intelligence - small person, big heart. Loved Jase too - big person and soft heart for the right girl. Kept my interest all the way and there was no saccharine magic wand sorting their problems for a happy ending - they did that themselves. Hot romance served with some home truths.
