i recommend this cage. it's easy to clean, and has a ton of room. my pigs are visibly happy.
i've had my 2 pigs in a bunch of homes. i had them in a c&c cage (2x3) and i decided i didn't like it. it was really annoying for me to build and it's hard to be able to move the cage around, mostly because the cubes come apart for me. if i snap one in one side, a part in the middle comes apart. it was just driving me insane. maybe i'm just bad at building them. i do like c&c cages because of the space they offer and it's easy and cheap to put together, but i made my own coroplast bottom (which you can get at home depot, sheets of it) and i just couldn't get the cut right. this cage is a TON of space for a great price. i personally like that the bottom is canvas. i don't have a problem with it. i spot clean weekly, and sometimes don't have to FULLY clean the entire cage for about 2 weeks. i just line my cage with the carefresh expandable bedding and a ton of hay.i do like to keep the pigs eating area on one side of the cage (that way their poops are more localised there) and their toys and hiding areas on another. i noticed that doing this, they BARELY poop in the sleeping area. it's easier for me to spot clean this way. anyway, i honestly just get a bag and use a dustpan to scoop the bedding out and then dump it into the bag. the stray stuff, i just pick the cage up from one side and then hit the bottom of the canvas so it can all just slide down. when it's all empty, i spray a dilute of vinegar and water on the canvas and wipe it down. then i wipe it down again with a wet rag. the vinegar mixture is SOOO strong and stinky so i think wiping it down with a wet rag afterward should be recommended. everything wiped down. any little white calcium deposits wiped away too. i think you just need to keep up with cleaning and wiping it down and it won't stain. i also didn't use puppy pads as suggested by some reviewers, and nothing leaked through the canvas at all NOR was there pee just floating around on the bottom. i think using the puppy pads would cut down cleaning time a bit since you can just roll the pads up and throw them away. i didn't want to use them because i think my pigs will bite them and i don't want to deal with that.i was really surprised when i read all of the negative reviews, and was worried this cage would be terrible. it honestly isnt. it took me about 10 minutes to clean everything.this cage is great for someone that doesn't really have the time to get all the parts together to build a c&c cage and for a good price. i do like the cages that you can buy off of the actual site, they're great, albeit a little pricey. but they're made way better than the one i did lol. so it's great if you don't feel like building something and getting stressed out over it.there's a lot of room (about a 2x4 c&c cage) i have 3 hidey things in there for them on one side and their food stuff (hay area, food dishes with veggies and pellets) on another and they still have soome xtra space in the middle. they're visibly happy. they run around and chase each other and they get inside of one of their wicker hidey things that they turn upsidedown and rock each other in it. it's really cute.i also read people complaining that it's impossibly flimsy and it caves in ??? this cage is so easy to put together that i hav eot assume that other people maybe got defective cages? yeah it caves in because the bottom is soft and if you fold a side in, its going to do that. but when you put the canvas in and tie the velcro straps, it stays pulled taut. i have mine on the floor and it's fine. you also can put it on a table.. just make sure the table is bigger than the bottom of this cage and no edges of the cage are hanging off. the bottom is SOFT. it is not a hard plastic. you're not really supposed ot be moving it around anyway so unless you have incredible hulk pigs that slam against the sides or something or ACTIVELY try to escape, you're fine. the walls don't need ot be made out of steel if your pigs don't bother with trying to escape their cage.i have 2 female pigs by the way. they have been bonded since i got them. i think they were about 3 months? anyway, i really like this cage.

Roomy, versatile, reasonably priced
I purchased this cage to use as a quarantine habitat for a guinea pig we recently adopted. All of our current guinea pigs live in "cube and coroplast" cages that I made myself (do a Google search; you'll find websites and instructions on how to build these), but I wanted something that would be easy to clean and easy to store once it was no longer needed. The cage is very lightweight in the box, and sets up quickly and relatively easily (the velcro tabs that affix the canvas bottom to the grid panels take a little practice). Took me maybe 10 minutes to have it ready to go. A detailed instruction guide comes with the MidWest Habitat that includes some basic care tips for guinea pigs, which is a nice plus for new owners. It provides plenty of room for a single pig (the general recommendation for one guinea pig is roughly 7.5 sq ft) and can be easily expanded by adding additional cages to accommodate 2+ guinea pigs. One downside to the MidWest Habitat, is that the grid panels do not have a lot of stability. Unlike C&C cages, there are no connectors at the top to help give the panels extra support. Overly rambuctious pigs might make a lot of noise rattling the sides (and I'd be particularly cautious about using it with a very young/small guinea pig, which could try to squeeze through the gaps between the panels and get its head caught), but I haven't run into that problem so far with the adult I'm currently using it with. My suggestion would be to use zip-ties if more stability on the sides is needed.Another downside is that the sides of the canvas base are only approximately 4.5" tall, which makes it easy for loose bedding (like CareFresh) to get kicked out and make a mess on the floor. I don't really see a work-around on that, other than to use fleece & towel bedding instead. Or keep a broom handy. Do watch for signs that the canvas is being chewed. I haven't run into that, either, but the potential is there.Another issue (not major, but worth mentioning) that I've had with the cage, is that the neither of the two horizontal rungs on the grid panels is where I would normally choose to hang a water bottle -- the top one is too high (in my opinion); the lower one might be okay for younger pigs, but larger guinea pigs might have a problem with it. I solved this problem by using a zip-tie to create another 'ledge' where I wanted the water bottle spout to rest. The canvas can be wiped down with a mix solution of white vinegar and water. Replacement canvas bottoms are available from the manufacturer. There is a limited 1-year warranty on the product, and extra accessories such as a lid and connecting grid w/ ramp (for combing two cages) are available.I gave this habitat 5 stars because, even though cube & coroplast cages are still my first choice, I think this product is a huge improvement over almost all other commercial cages, and because it is versatile -- easy to set up/take down/store; would make a good 'travel' cage; can be easily expanded and re-configured. It's also very reasonably priced compared to other commercial products.

Easy, yet very well made!
This is a fantastic guinea pig cage! It's much larger for Mayo (my guinea) to play in than her other cage. The bottom is very easy to put on; you just have to put the cage over it, lift the corners up, and then velcro it to the cage! This makes it very easy to take out and clean. I also like how you can take the bottom out, and use the cage as a place for your guinea pig to play outside in! Another neat feature is the locking cages. There's a moveable rod which you lift up, then you close the door, and finally you bring the rod back down. It makes me feel better that the doors are secure to my piggys cage. The only thing that I do not like about this product is that in the center of each side of the cage where one side connects with the other, it won't stay straight, so the cage is more of an hourglass shape than a rectangular. However, it's not that big of a deal, as you can't really tell. The only thing I'm worried about is Mayo getting out of the cage. I don't think that she is going to fit through the spaces of the wire (obviously) but when I had my hamster, Snack, she moved the wires with her teeth? I don't know how to explain it. Unfortunately, I was not home at the time, so when I returned, I found her in front of the bathroom... one of my other pets had gotten to her. She's safely buried now in one of my many gardens in my yard. (sorry that part was was unnecessary, but I felt like should have said it). I'm not too worried though because the wires are quite thick, but you can never be too sure. Sorry for the long review!

Good Buy
Good sized cage & set up was easy. It is flimsy so I added zip ties but other than that, it’s a good cage for 2 Guinea pigs

Best Guinea Pig Cage Out There!
This is an amazing cage. I have had many of these cages over the years and absolutely love them. They may not be very portable but I don’t move mine often, and I have mine on tables now (I didn’t before) so I just move the table. I really love the canvas bases of these cages. My piggies never chewed them. They don’t get stained for me because I use fleece bedding (totally recommend you do, it’s great). I also like the accessibility of the Guinea Habitat. Helpful for bonding with your piggies and I don’t really use the doors. Some people say it is hard to assemble and flimsy but I have never had issues with assembly, definitely the easiest guinea pig cage I have ever assembled. Perfect size for guinea pigs. The bar spacing is too wide for hamsters and other smaller pets and the physical cage is too small for rabbits and too low but it is perfect for piggies. Incredibly customizable too. I have used connected cages in different shapes. I connected horizontally without the dividers once, but it was a bit tight to move around. I even built a stand/stacked cage with them and some other materials (coroplast base for top tier, zip ties and a broomstick support beam). The possibilities are endless, really. I have had trios, pairs, mothers with pups, those sassy pigs who need to live in singles over the years, in these cages. I currently have two pairs in these cages. I use the base on the outside because it is true, they are a little flimsy, but it does work. Totally recommend if you’re on the fence about buying this cage. You and your pigs will be very happy. Bonus- I used the spare grids from past cages to make playpens. Companies make fleece sized to these.

Serves its purpose
I bought these cages because my two guinea pigs started fighting each other and needed to be seperated. I originally had them in a Midwest Guinea Pig Habitat but found it to be too much of a hassle to clean. I like that these cages come with a solid base that latches on to the cage with plastic clips. The cage comes with all the basic accessories a guinea pig needs. I found the included hay troughs to not be very useful as they do not latch on to the cage at the bottom, making them tilt up when full of hay and getting hay all over everything. Some reviews may say the cage is small, but I find that it offers a very reasonable amount of living space for one guinea pig. Overall, I like the cages and my guinea pigs seem very happy in them.

Easy to setup
Spacious cage for guinea pigs to zoom around! Cage is easy to clean with the waterproof liner, though pee stains can sometimes be very stubborn to remove. Otherwise, my piggies are happy!!

Great cage
Bought it as I was leaving my 3 guinea pigs with a friend for 2 weeks while I was away, and it is a pretty good cage. Easy to put together and take apart, perfect for storage, and easy to clean. Too small for 3 guinea pigs so we expanded it with a run, but I would say that it is an okay size for 2 but definitely go bigger if you can! Overall, lovely cage and very happy with my purchase.
