Great juicer...3 yrs later still a great juicer
(FOLLOW UP REVIEW APRIL 2012)I've owned this juicer for nearly 3 yrs and used it almost daily since i first bought it. All i can say is that I'm surprised that i don't have a single shred of buyers remorse with this purchase and i usually do with almost everything that I buy. It works the same today as the first day which i find to be rare with appliances these days. Since 3 years ago, i've continued my research in juicers and i periodically check if there is a better one out there. There are tons of juicer comparison videos online and I encourage all of you to watch them before making your purchase decision. What i've learned in the past 3 years is that there are 4 main types of juicers: centrifugal, single auger, twin gear, and hydraulic press. If your top priority is maximum juice quality and yield for the broadest scope of fruits and vegetables then you can ignore centrifugal type juicers...in my opinion. When comparing single auger, twin gear and hydraulic press type juicers i find that the difference in juice quality and yield is small. I've thought long and hard about upgrading to a twin gear and even a hydraulic press type juicer over the past 3 yrs but i just can't justify spending the extra $500-$2500 (Greenstar to Norwalk) for negligible increase in quality and yield. If money and preparation time was of no concern of mine i might feel differently. In summary, if your top priority is quality and yield then you get the biggest bang for your buck with a low rpm single auger type juicer like the omega 8003-8006.Cons:1. One thing the the omega 8003 doesn't do well is making nut milks like almond milk or soy milk. I don't ever make those so it's not an issue with me but if it is perhaps a vertical single auger juicer like the omega vrt, kurvings silent juicer or Hurom vertical juicer is right for you. (I would be cautious with the kurvings and Hurom brands because they haven't been around as long so they might not be around to honor the warranty.)2. A common complaint is that the feed tube is small which requires the user to slice up the produce more than they would have to if using another style juicer. I agree that the in an ideal world the feed tube would be larger but my concern there would be that a larger feed tube would put larger chunks of produce through the machine possibly requiring a more powerful and more expensive motor. The small diameter feed tube doesn't necessarily require more prep time...it depends on what you are juicing. When juicing carrots, i find that baby carrots require no prep and provide the same yield as regular carrots. Kale, chard, celery, collard greens, etc...will fit right in the machine without any cutting. So I find that the small inlet diameter isn't a big deal to me but just know that some people complain about it.If you're interested in buying this juicer, just know that omega has updated this design and implemented the improvements in the 8004 (white) and 8006 (chrome) models. They've updated the material of the auger to GE Ultem which is a plastic that is 8 times harder than the 8003's melamine auger. They've also improved the juicer cone design to improve it's strength and added 5 more yrs to the products warranty (15 yr total!). Less significant design changes are the design of the collection cups and shell of the motor. These updates are significant enough that if i were to purchase a juicer now i would get the 8004 with the extended warranty, updated juicer cone design and harder auger. My goal in this review is to help the reader avoid making the same trial and error mistakes that i did with buying and ultimately returning different juicers until i finally bought this one. let my review here be a testament to how satisfied I am with this juicer. People are more likely to write a review of a product that they've had nothing but trouble with. I takes an extremely satisfied customer to take the time to write an honest review. So if I sound like I'm over selling this juicer it's only because i'm extremely proud of this purchase.I wish you all the best in your juicing endeavors and if you have any questions please post a comment as I love sharing my knowledge and passion for healthy living.(ORIGINAL REVIEW SEPT 2009)I wanted to get into juicing so I started researching juicers on Amazon. I originally bought the Breville BJE200XL. This juicer is very popular on this site and received good reviews. I beg to differ. It was cumbersome, difficult to clean, and the juice didn't taste very good. I immediately returned this juicer and did more research. In my opinion, if you're serious about juicing I would highly recommend the Omega 8003. It's quiet, easy to clean, and produces great tasting, high quality juice. It's worth every penny and i'll never make the mistake of buying a centrifugal juicer again.

Amazing deal..
Upgrading from a centrifical juicer, my only objective was for better quality juice. One that didn't turn green from oxidation minutes after juicing and didn't have that oxidized taste. Instead of having to drink it immediately after juicing I could even have some left over the next day, take to the office, etc. And it would taste more like Odwalla than that slightly bitter aftertaste I was used to.I was trying to justify the extra bucks for the Hurom or Omega VRT, but I knew the wife would kill me since she's still barely getting over the Jack Lalaine I bought last year. But shopping on Amazon I saw the amazing reviews this juicer was getting (come on 90% 5 star and nothing under 4?).After reading all the reviews my conclusion was that I'd be sacrificing somewhat the taste and quality of the juice and have much more work to do chopping up all the veggies first and then expending lots of effort pushing them all through if I went with the 8003. And another $120 wouldn't kill me (though my wife might) for all the extra convenience etc.So I decided to buy the 8003 and exchange it for the VRT if I wasn't satisfied. Anyway, got it home tonight and thought about swinging by Target for a vegetable dicer but didn't make it (glad I didn't).I read you have to cut carrots in quarters and finely chop everything. What?? I started quartering carrots until I realized there was plenty of room to put these large organic carrots in whole. I then juiced Kale no problem at all (big problem with my previous juicer), apples (ok had to quarter them - big whoop), topping some ginger and celery (whole stock obviously no probs). The result was that the juicing process was more enjoyable and just a bit longer than with my centrifical. But the juice was almost shockingly tastier. You can actually taste how much healthier and more natural the juice is. I even forced my PO'd wifey to have a drink which she grudgingly agreed to do. Wasn't expecting much with all the strong taste of too much Kale with carrots, celery, etc. Kind of a hard core juicer kind of drink. She looked up after drinking it and said "This actually tastes really good". And that was the end of the arguments. The build quality is fantastic, engineering brilliant, cleanup is even easier than the Jack Lalaine (which I thought was easy as it was). Bottom line? As most everyone says, this is an amazing deal and one of the most satisfying purchases I've made in a long time. As the other reviews attest - no buyers remorse here.-------------Update Edit:After using this for a week multiple times a day it gets better and better. Here are a few more things that jump out at me about this juicer:1) Can't say enough how fast and easy this is to clean and assemble. I don't care how good a juicer is, if it takes time or is tedious to clean and assemble you WON'T use it often - period.2) This really IS a fast juicer to use. It juices EVERYTHING I throw at it without a hitch, and cleanup is fast. The 20 seconds I spend slicing veggies is insignificant in the total time of operation. It gets put together, juices and cleaned so fast that multiple times a day is simply not a chore - I even look forward to it.3) The taste - the nutrition. Having my juice not oxidize and turn brown 30 seconds after juicing (like with my centrifigal) makes the taste so much better. And claims that the juice is healthier with enzymes intact, lack of oxidation etc can be easily felt. After drinking carrot/celery/broccoli juice in the morning I spend my 20 minute drive to work just marveling at the way my body feels.

Multi Purpose
This juicer is fantastic! It has a lot of different attachments for different purposes. Not only can you juice with it but you can also make fresh pasta and other items of yumminess. It is heavy and loud. It is large and you need space to store it. It is easy to clean if you get it in the sink right away, but don't let the vegetable detritus harden on it. Juicing carrots will stain the parts orange.

Brilliant with Greens
Tried pomegranate juice in this the morning and it worked wonderfully. The only downside is that it is slower due its mechanism but then the juice made from cold apples stored outside comes out delicously cold. Amazing amount of juice from parsleys and beet greens. With the softer apples get a fair amount of pulp in there but I prefer that in some ways. EASY clean up as long as you rinse right after using. I have to say this is so easy and feels safe with the slow speed that my 2 and half year old has insisted on being the main operator (with me being right there of course and watching his little hands) but he has no problems using it and loves it to no end. The only things is gettin him to drink the end product : ) Also love the handle makes it easier to store after each use and it is light enough to! I havent tried nut butters or any of the other attachments yet but I will report back when I do.

Easy to Use easy to clean
Read various reviews of juicers, for the price this is a very good machine. Easy to use, separates the juice/fibre easily and takes little time to clean. Good value.

So versatile!!
I love this machine!! I have a Bleantec (and I still love it) but my little one hates it due to its noise, so I was looking for another juicer that can juice and process food. I can't beleive this juicer can even juice sugar cane (which other juicer/blender can't do!!). I juice apple/carrot/cabbage. Then I add flour, coconut oil, salt to the plup, use the machine to knead the dough, and use the dough to make chips. My boys are eating the veggie chips that they don't even know they are veggies!Other than juicing, I use this machine to make nut milk, rice milk and soy milk, sorbet, ice-cream. I can use it in early morning and won't wake my whole family up. It is unbelivably quiet.

awesome juicer
Great juicer! Doesn't create a lot of foam compared to other juicers. Great brand and quality! Watch the documentary 'fat sick and nearly dead' and you will appreciate the art of juicing more. I would recommend this style of juicing more, even though it'll take you a bit longer to juice but it's worth it.
