Awesome Little Griddle
The Royal Gourmet PD1301R is an awesome little griddle, and you really can’t beat the price! I’ve always wanted a griddle, but the bigger ones were either too large or too expensive for my needs. Since I only cook for 3 people, having a large griddle felt like overkill and a waste of space. This 24-inch, 3-burner tabletop model is the perfect size for me. It heats evenly, has plenty of cooking space, and is very easy to clean. I had one of those griddles that you add to the top of a normal gas grill, and it didn’t work great and was a pain to clean. This griddle is so much better in terms of functionality and ease of cleaning. The cover is a nice bonus, making it portable and convenient for outdoor cooking. If you’re looking for a compact, budget-friendly griddle that performs great, this one is a fantastic option!

Fantastic griddle that can be used for every meal!
Absolutely LOVE this griddle! We use this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while camping. It is large enough to cook several items at once. The heat distribution is pretty good and everything is good, heavy duty quality. This is much cheaper than name brand products but works just as good, and for a much better price! We use this with a large propane tank that is on our camper, so it's great to set up right next to it on our picnic table. The cover is awesome for storage in between camping trips.

Great cooking experience!
I'd like to add my voice to the other positive reviews. I had never cooked on a griddle, so I've been experimenting with various foods over the last month or so, and I'm happy to report that everything I've tried has been wonderful. I've done burgers (of course), stir fry beef strips, veggies of all kinds (mushrooms and onions cook great on the griddle), and many other things. I'm going to try fried rice next. This griddle is easy to use and very easy to clean once seasoned. I admit I was intimidated by the thought of seasoning it, but I used Blackstone griddle seasoning, and it was a very easy process. We really like that we can easily cook veggies because we eat a lot of them. A griddle works so much better than a grill, fqr more versatile. So if you're on the fence about buying this griddle, don't be. The quality is great, easy to assemble, and the food is delicious.

Ok overall, but not very even in heat distribution.
I've managed to cook some really nice batches of chicken on it, so no major complaints here. However it has its flaws. Griddle bed is uneven in it's heat distribution. Middle 1/3 strip of the bed, right over the burners gets very hot (450 - 500) even on the lowest setting. Further 1/3 strip of the bed gets very hot too but just a bit lower. Closest 1/3 strip of the bed gets very low temperatures (just over 300). This is with all three burners on lowest setting. The grease catching hole and tray tend to leak really badly. The hole in the tray tends to drop crease more on to the case of the griddle rather than into the grease catching tray. It is an easy solution as a simple aluminum foil funnel stuck between the griddle bed and through the hole of the body into the grease tray catches all the drips, but it is still another thing to do every time I use it. The good thing is that the bed seemed to season relatively well and is very non stick even with acidic and sugary/sticky items such as Orange juice (Chicken breast marinated in orange juice and peel with Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce). Overall I'm still getting a good use out of this griddle and I like its size as it is very compact for a propane gas griddle, but it has its flaws and quirks to work around.

Best camping cooktop ever!
I’ve been camping for almost 50 years using everything from single burner butane to 3 burner - 90k BTU camp stoves with every imaginable cast iron pan ever made. I’ve just replaced everything with this griddle! If your making food for two or 8, this puppy can handle it. Wife and I literally just returned from a weekend of beach camping and we ate VERY well. So versatile, easy to set up and use. We stir fried onion and bell peppers, cooked up chorizo and shrimp all at the same time using different “heat zones”. Mixed together in aluminum pan to keep warm while we heated tortillas on same griddle using left over drippings. OMG!! Comes with hose to connect with 20 pound propane tank and even has a cover. Only ding I would give is that this manufacturer does not provide accessories. It would be great if they provided an optional warming rack. Also, it would be great if they made a funnel to connect the gap between the bottom of the grill and the drip pan. Bacon grease dropped off and missed the hole that goes into the grease catcher. These are small dings. Five stars given but would rated at 4.95 based on above. Bottom line, very well made, nothing “cheap” about the construction and priced right for what you get. If your new to camping or a gray haired old boot like me, you cannot go wrong with this grill. Suggestion: go to internet and look up cooking techniques and recipes for this grill. Fun!!!

So far it is great!
So far I love this thing, its fit and finish is great and it even looks good. I did just as the instructions said and did 3 full, heat & cool season cycles with spray oil. It is the most non stick griddle I've ever used, after each cook I thoroughly clean it with just water and a soft griddle brush while it's still hot, then I oil it with spray, wipe with napkin where it's just a thin layer of oil left, once it starts to slightly smoke shut it off to cool. The burners are fantastic, the igniter hits all 3 burners at once every single time, has not failed me once on that! Very even cooking, my buddy is upset he bought the 17in Blackstone with one burner, he said this is far better after cooking his breakfast on it, my dad said it heats more even than his 22' Blackstone and is more non stick. Most bad reviews on these coated griddles are simply improper use, they can be non forgiving. This griddle gets alot hotter than you should ever need to cook on, DO NOT turn this griddle on the highest setting then just leave it there.. its good to heat it up fast then turn the burners down to half heat. If you have patience for the maintenance this griddle is a steal, also the big propane tank hook up is a major plus

Makes you forget that you have a Grill
Well all has started with a grilling event on the ocean side, we used a small charcoal grill. We got smoke minor burns, raw food, completely burnt food, lighter fluid, and remained hungry. So I was looking for some alternatives. Among a few searches this one popped out. I didn't even know that people use griddle outside of professional kitchen. I've bought a grill when we moved to the USA, though it is always a hustle to keep that clean, so I've lost the interest in it a few months after the purchase. Since I have this griddle I use it 2-4 or even more times a week (it's still summer). So let's review the details. Size: It's portable, though it is not small or compact. It can run on a small propane tank (with a suitable adapter) for about an hour with all the burners on low. You can use about the upper 4/5 of the cooking surface, as the bottom part usually too cold. It's enough to comfortably cook 8 burger patties in one batch. Heat: For me, this griddle runs hot, I usually cook on low. sometimes switching a burner or two off if the food needs to have different temperatures. I use the high setting only if I have a lot of food on the plate with high water content (hash browns, rice). Maintenance: That's a big surprise. This thing is porcelain coated which is not common for larger grills. I only can guess. This type of coating is quite brittle, so the unavoidable bends on a larger surface makes this coating impractical. Also the instructions is not that clear how to clean/prepare the plate surface. I've spent hours with seasoning, realizing that I would scrape of all that burned oil from the surface with my next spatula movement. Unlike ceramics, it is fine to use metal tools on this surface, as long as it's not a sharp poking one. So cleaning is just scraping the surface, and applying water on hot surface then wipe it with paper towel using a clip will do. Occasionally I use grill stone to get rid of some nasty burnt-downs. I did that only twice in 5 months so far, and the first one was after my, last, failed seasoning attempt. Both times I got the non-stick porcelain surface back. Comfort: - Well, leveling the plate is an important thing, I feel the four screws on the bottom of the plate does not provide enough setting if you you put this grill to an uneven surface (which could happen, since it is supposed to be portable). Also those screws change the distance between the plate an the burner, so the heat distribution changes as well. - There is no wind protection between the burners an the plate, which again can be challenging in a breezy outdoor setting. (I'd recommend to buy the hard cover, which could provide a wind shield from at least one direction.) - The drain hole for the grease trap could be larger. Even with it's shortcomings, this is a great little griddle for the money.

Initial impressions: disappointed, but time will tell
Purchased this as Used-Good. Arrived Used-Dirty-Damaged-Items Missing. I am returning and buying a new one. I will refrain from discussing operation until I receive the new one, but I can attest that the weight/thickness of the cooktop is very heavy. And appears to be very durable. I like the enamel, which should clean up good. The surface dimension seems to be a nice size, and I like that there are 3 separate burners to have different temperature zones. There should be room for a saucepan if needed to cook liquids/make a pot of coffee, etc. I intend to use this while camping. The grease tray seems flimsy, but I may be biased as it arrived with old grease in it. Also, the porcelain is discolored from heat. You may want to consider the stainless steel one. I will update my review when I get the replacement. UPDATE: I returned the used, damaged one and received the new one. First, the packaging was a lot better, and this time I had Amazon ship it in an outer packaging. Which I'm glad I did, because the Amazon box was not taped together well at all. I can see why the other grill was damaged where the cooktop sits on the 4 holes. There are 4 little studs that come with it, and you must screw them into the bottom of the cooktop. 4 nuts hold it in place. But the back two nuts are supposed to be 4mm away from tight against the cooktop. I don't know what will keep them from working loose. I will put Locktite on the threads, I guess. The biggest issue currently, is chipped enamel in at least 5 high spots on the cooktop-corners, et al. This isn't on the cooking surface, but up on the edges. It appears the top was set down roughly upside down. I hope the enamel won't continue chipping down to the cooking surface. This one also came with a cover, which the other one was missing. I will be surprised if it lasts very long-it's not very sturdy looking. I will update again when I actually use it.

Awesome to cook on
I cooked breakfast and supper on this for a whole week while camping, made fantastic meals on it. It has a large enough cooking area to cook for four people all at once, I cooked main courses, slid the food to a warm side and cooked side dishes at the same time and everything stayed hot. This thing gets very hot but too much heat is better than not enough, basically cook everything on low and if nessessary finish with burners off. I used metal utensels and the surface didn't scratch and the cleanup was super easy, just use water and a scraper then wipe it off with a paper towel. The materials used seem to be of high quality and the griddle itself is very well made

Grrrrill of my dreams!
I bought the grill because it was the biggest table top unit I could find (24" X 14")with 3 burners (lots of power and control), it looks beautiful and the price was great. The griddle arrived in 2 days and I unpacked and set it up easily in minutes and trust me it can put out loads of heat which I had to get used to. I was worried about the ceramic surface after reading a few comments in reviews, but I have used it have a half dozen times and I simply take the griddle top inside and wash it with soap and water in the sink. Cleans up beautifully. The only downside was that I have to use plastic utensils to keep the surface scratch free and I can't find a full size offset spatula in nylon or silicone. I will survive though.

Great griddle
Fabulous griddle for outdoor cooking. Took a while to heat up evenly with some smoke from burning oil on the griddle. Once evenly hot it cooks fantastic. Made pancakes for 13 people so effortlessly. Looking forward to using it more often. Had it on a wooden table and no concerns about heat under it. Used plastic spatula as I think the griddle surface could scratch. It exceeded my expectations.
