Does this work for splitting two mics?

I have not tried it but you could definitely try. With it being a L/R Female XLR to Aux i could see it working but I also have my doubts since this isn't what is made for

Can i run the xlr to an input (3.5mm) on a mixing board?

Yes. You should be able to. I am running this from a mixing board to an input to a streaming server. I have not any issues.

Can molded body of 3.5mm connector be unscrewed to give access to wire terminals?

Yes, it unscrews to expose a rubber sheath underneath
