D'Addario Electric Bass Guitar Strings, XL Nickel, EXL220S, Super Light Gauge 40-95, Short Scale, 4-String Set, Pack of 1

They sound absolutely beautiful when first put in. With moderate use and frequent wiping down and conditioning the strings (Dunlop 65), they sounded bright and jazzy for about 3 months, now they sound warmer, but still have a nice clean tone. I suppose coated strings would be the way to go if you're looking for a product with tone longevity.

Nice strings, replaced tired strings of another brand on a Square SS. Took a couple hours of playing to settle in which I understand is normal. They sound as good and better then I was hoping for. Price was good for a decent set of strings. Will continue to buy this brand from Amazon.

I was blown away by these strings. The very light gauge makes them very easy to play on and if you have a bass processor ( I use an ol boss me-6b) You can enhance the sound to get some great, great tone from them. Being a bass player that rather would be heard than felt, I wanted something that put me out there with the guitarist and these string are catalyst. Highly recommend for bass players that want to be heard

Great price for excellent strings…

I have tried many types of strings on my 27 inch scale bass & I have found that these strings give me the most accurate intonation. I am very limited in my choices for my 27 inch scale bass because the bridge is not adjustable! I wish that these strings were a little smoother so that they wouldn't produce so much finger noise but I have spent plenty of money experimenting with different types of strings & I will not tolerate poor intonation. These strings are really bright sounding and they have less tension than other types of strings which makes them very comfortable to play.I recently installed a set of these on my Squier Bronco bass. These strings work very well on this bass also. I noticed that this set of strings are the exact same sizes as the strings that the Squier Bronco bass comes with from the factory. It would be nice if this string manufacturer would make a set of these that is a little smoother, but overall I like these strings.

Sound great and fit my Fender Squier short scale bass

I bought these srings for my Fender Player Mustang bass. There are not a lot of great options for a short scale bass in this gauge. The Fender strings that came with the Mustang for my taste were too heavy a gauge and felt floppy. The D'Addario strings have a much more balanced tension and sound much better. I'm liking them a lot!

These are super light gauge for bass, but I’m a guitar player with a bass not a bass player. These feel awesome as a guitar player but for sure thicker strings will sound bassier for recording especially. Really comfortable to play as a guitar player though!
