What is the shelf life before opening?

I don't know what the manufacturer suggests, because shelf life isn't shown on the can, but I've had canned foods (at times) that are probably a year old & there is nothing wrong with them. As long as the product is sealed without any large dents or breaks in the can, it should stay good for many months. I used to can foods yrs. ago & as long as the jars stayed sealed, they could be used even after a yr. Once the seal is broken, though, they have a limited shelf life & need to be used fairly quickly. Is this a BPA free can?

"The lining of this can was produced without BPA" is printed on the label (I do not see anything that says "BPA Free"). Also on the label is a phone number for questions: 1-800-832-6345. Hope that helps.
