It does what it advertises
If you're like me then you're looking to upgrade your lighting set ups but you're on a budget. This is a good product to do that with. The focusing of the beam is good enough that when I'm lighting scenes I can focus on what I need to light and no longer worry I'm spilling light in areas I don't want it to go. If you're thinking this is adapter will be enough to throw a gobo in front of the barn doors and cast shapes... think again. It was never meant for that. But with the beamed light, c-stands and a cut out, you can get that now. It's about knowing what to do with it. Construction of the Fresnel feels solid and it's a welcomed addition to any lighting kit.

Decent Quality for Price
I use it on my Neewer SL60w video light and it does exactly what it needs to do - it gives me control over focusing the light beam. For more heavy duty setups I would not recommend mounting this on a LED rated more than 120 watts or a pro tungsten light because of ventilation - there is little airflow and all the heat gets trapped inside and doesn't dissipate very well. For smaller setups and gentle use it works fine. For comparison the Neewer SL60w stays at around 50 degrees Celsius after an hour of use at 100% brightness, perfectly within safe limits. A Clar Illumi Max 120w begins to hit 70 degrees Celsius after a couple minutes at 100%, which is at the upper limit of safe usage.

Converted my Amaran 200D into a power house.
Bowen mount on my Amaran 200D … turned a powerful light into a fresnel style beam of light. I was so happy with the result I ended up buying 2 more for my other two Amaran 200D.Comes with 30% grid to soften the beam, I would suggest using the grid as the light from 200D passing through fresnel lens can blind people on dance floor.

DO NOT BUY Creates Shapes in the Light/Stained Glass Effect
This product is so close to being good, and yet it's completely useless.I could talk about some of the positives of this product, overall it has a pretty good build quality, metal barn doors, and it does spot/focus the light. but all this is secondary. When affixed to my light there was a very noticeable texturing of the light. Very similar to what you'd get if you diffused the lights through a stained glass window (without the color variation) this effect is compounded when used in conjunction with an RGB setting.WIth white lights, it's almost unnoticeable with the naked eye, but it would likely be noticeable in camera. Especially if LUTS were applied. It could be color graded around to a point but this would take so much time and effort it's just not worth it.DO NOT BUY

good try, but white balance was way off
really wanted this to be the answer for a constant light source for Bowens mount accessories. sadly it didn't pan out.it does have great output, lotta punch. but the white balance mix was definitely to up to par. the cri was quite low, 92 and below for everything between the extremes... 95 cri for 2500 and 8500. also the color temperature read out did not match its output. i was still hoping to get away with using it... and if i knew the read out was a couple hundred kelvin off i could adjust to match. however this was not possible, as the color temperature would also change when the intensity was adjusted. so there would be no way of maintaining a consistent color temperature and it would never mix with the other lights i am already using.finally, an odd quirk, on battery the intensity level only goes to 80%... you have to be plugged into ac for it to go to 100%. not really a big deal for a light with such a high output, except that on site, or out doors when you are trying to fight the sun a bit is where you want the extra punch, not in my studio with a fully controlled environment.i look forward to a mark ii version where the color temperature variance will be fixed.

Worth the price
Well worth the price. it works for controlling a 300 watt light to prevent spill near a projector

Overall a good product
I use it with with Amaran Aputure 200x and works great. However using it with a light stronger than a 200, for example an Aputure 300X it will burn the fresnel lens because its made out of plastic not glass. But with the 200's it works flawlessly.Great product, limited, but great product nonetheless.

Perfect attachment
The fresnel with honey comb and barn doors were better than I expected. Fits perfectly on the universal bower Mount. Pictured here is the Fodavil Pixel C220. I plan to buy this same fresnel package when I purchase the brighter version of the light soon.
