Unbelievable Comfort, Serious Protection, Looks Good
Re: Klim Mens K Fifty 1 Jean Pants 34 Dark BlueHoly ****.I had no idea that pants with full protection (D30 on the hips, knees, a foam pad on the tailbone, kevlar down to the low thighs) could feel this good.I can wear these anywhere. I'm sitting at my desk right now typing this, and the mesh against my knees is soft and not distracting, with the armor pads in place.I'm a hefty 35 - 32 in American sizing terms (waist girth - height), 5'10"/5'11", 210 lbs. I consider myself to have slightly thick thighs for my height. I ordered the 34 - 32 and these pants are the perfect American "relaxed fit" for me. A tiny bit baggy at the shins, which is how I prefer it, for style, breathability, and for my 3/4s-height boots to fit neatly underneath without tension. God bless.I pulled the legs inside out to adjust the resting height of the knee armor several times, to make it perfect for sitting AND standing. I need to feel the armour covering my knee in both the sitting and the standing position. None of that low-hanging armor, slide-around bullsh*t. This adjustment was very easy to do. The stitching felt flawless, on the mesh and on the velcro. Nothing felt loose or ragged. The pads have two points of velcro by which to affix to the knee area, and don't worry, you don't feel the extra velco real estate AT ALL through the mesh (you also don't feel the kevlar on the thigh at all, unless you pinch the fabric consciously looking for it). The velcro patches at the knee are just big enough to guarantee you can find a sweet spot for your armour. I got mine with the armor too low. Put it too high. Took 2 more tries. Then got it set perfectly. I'm so #%^$ing happy with how these things are fitting right now. They'll tell you on forums that the armout is supposed to hang a little low when standing and that if you crash you'll generally be in a low-slide and you should curl into the fetal position regardless. The people who say that are either idiots or they're trying to sell you on mediocrity. You don't often think about what you should do while you're in a crash, and with the G-forces involved, you don't necessarily have much control over what position your legs are in, and if you spin about your lateral axis (god forbid), the torque WILL pull your legs out straight-ish. Don't settle for armour that flops low... And in this case, you're not settling. The jeans look like the picture. There really aren't lumps that betray it's true nature as riding pants. It's witchcraft. These are my second pair of riding pants. Riding pants I've tried on have usually been too long or too tight for me, and the knee armour has generally hung too low and been annoying to adjust, with frail mesh, badly stitched velcro, or insufficient adjustment potential, and those others at the Hein Gericke shop were all simply UNCOMFORTABLE. All of them were uncomfortable with such expectation-lowering consistency, that I had no idea moto pants could feel this good until I put these on. My Hein Gericke textile riding pants (which were the same price as these) will never touch my body again.I know, I know, these jeans aren't hardcore moto pants, but they're Klim, so they're enough for touring. And they feel every bit as sturdy and protective as my textile pants. In reality, they're probably slightly less abrasive-resistent (re sliding) and slightly more impact resistent (re bouncing) than my Hein Gericke's (which came with slightly inferior pads than these), but I generally ride my bike fairly slow, and I'm a heavy guy. Falling and breaking myself is way more of a concern for me than preparing for a 20 meter slide, which at a normal max speed of 70 kmph (45 mph), I'll - god willing - never deal with. What else to say? Man, my Amazon reviews are 75% negative, so this rave review feels weird to type out, but I can't find anything to whine about here, and I'm actively looking for something to whine about.Yes, they're expensive. But knowing what I know now, wearing them as I type this? Riding with them? If I have to replace these, and they've been discontinued, and the only available K Fifty 1 jeans at size 34 are marked up to $600? I'll f****** pay it.My second Klim product. I'm rapidly becoming a diehard Klim fan. In my purchase book, Hein Gericke is 1-for-3 (good helmet, bad pants, bad jacket), Alpinestars is 1-for-2 (one defective pair of gloves, one good pair), Klim is 2-for-2 (good jacket, good pants). If you have the money, buy it. If you almost have the money, find a way to swing it.Cheers from a Michigan expat in Italy.(P.S. The bulge in the picture is my wallet, not the hip armor)

Initial Impressions
Just received these today. They’re exactly as described.I wear 34 X 30 Carhartt almost exclusively everyday, so I was looking for a relaxed fit in riding pants.I ordered these in 34” waist (X 33”) and they’re what I expected. A little loose in the waist, but I prefer that over too snug. The next size smaller wouldn’t be comfortable for me.The pockets are all deep (including the 5th/“keys” pocket) - a good thing after reading reviews of other riding pants. These are truly deep wasted and “relaxed fit” so I’m happy about that. (I can’t stand hip huggers.)The hip padding is comfortable and the lining is soft and pliable. The built-in tailbone padding isn’t too thick or obtrusive. The knee padding sits just below my knees when standing, but is exactly where I want it when seated. I imagine if I’m wearing these for a long time, the knee padding location would be irritating, but I’d be removing the knee pads until just before I got back on the bike. That’s a minor inconvenience for the protection they’ll provide. The liner is also soft and pliable and extends the length of the legs. The denim looks and feels like cotton denim (the knee area looks “worn” in color only.)These weigh about the same as three pairs of jeans, which was also expected. The craftsmanship looks good. No loose or unraveling threads. I would mistake these for regular jeans at first glance.Initially, I’m quite happy with the fit, design and comfort. If they hold up over time, I’ll buy another pair. No, they’re not cheap. But regrowing skin is a much higher price to pay and makes these jeans a good investment and prudent insurance policy.

Good product
I have been out on the bike with these jeans twice now. 5'10", 173lbs. I wear 34-30 jeans and I bought 34's. Fit on the waist is good and from ther down it is baggy. I don't consider this a problem though. Extra room in the seat is more comfortable for me. The armour at the hips fits great, the knees, not so great. They hang low when walking but ride up nicely with my knees bent on the bike. The problem is they tend to slide to the side of my knees when I ride. They are heavy weight material, and well made. The mesh on the skin side is nice. I Was torn between riding jeans and armour underwear and got these after a long debate. No jeans I had are baggy enough to fit armour underwear under them so I figured I might as well get these. Overall I think they give me better than good protection at a reasonable price. I feel better in these than in plain jeans.

Very good touring pants
Purchased for sport touring, I've now worn these jeans on two trips totalling over 6,000 miles, including a 1500-mile Ironbutt run. They are very comfortable on a sport bike. These are the same waist size as Levi's 550, and fit more loosely all around. They are a bit long, but that works well for the bike position.I have not, nor do I wish to crash test them, however they certainly offer more protection than a paper-like layer of regular denim. The included armor is very good quality D30 and is easily positioned. Build quality is robust, and so far the pants show very little wear.I've had them for 6 months, and the KLIMs have become my preferred riders. I'll update this review should anything change our relationship...

Great Quality
These are outstanding and very comfortable. Please note these won’t have the protection of full blown textile or leather riding pants, but they are much better than wearing standard jeans. I use them when I ride places near my home that I walk around once I get there. KLIM runs big in my experience if you are between size go down not up.

I usually wear a 34 but bought a 32 Klim
It's been reported before. These jeans fit oversize - but predictably so. Drop one size down from your regular fit and you should be good.Separate to that, the quality of these jeans is awesome and worth the significant price premium. Wish they did an extra dark unfaded denim, tho.
