Vanilla is better than chocolate
Older reviews say there’s no scoop included, but as of September 2025 there IS a scoop included in each bag. I’ve tried Chocolate and Vanilla. Vanilla is better in my opinion. Chocolate: yeah it’s chocolatey, hint of banana flavor and artificial sweetener-resembling aftertaste. I don’t like banana so I started adding a little cinnamon and a date/sugar and it became something I would look forward to. Vanilla: I don’t have to add anything to this! It almost tastes like birthday cake. Sorcery. I always mix it in a blender with ice and water. It feels like a high-protein meal so afterwards I like to sip ginger tea.

I got some Huel tips for you
I almost never mix up a Huel and drink it immediately. I mix it up right after I drink the last one, which has been sitting mixed in the fridge for hours already, up to a day or more sometimes. This ENORMOUSLY helps with the texture. I do this with all my shakes. They are all better after soaking longer. If it soaks too long it starts to ferment and opening the shaker bottle will come with an obvious pressure pop and it tastes sparkly kind of like kombucha. The website says don't let it sit too long pre-mixed but so far I've never noticed any dire effects. Could be I'm gambling with my life? It doesnt come with a scoop. This is to save money and the earth. Your first order of Huel from their website includes one, but I just use a stainless steel measuring cup I have set aside in a dish on the counter for this one purpose. Add the powder to the liquid, not the liquid to the powder, unless you like bricks at the bottom of your bottle. You can't put dry powder in a bottle for transport and add water later wherever you are. Learned this the hard way. Swirl the bottle before shaking it, so you don't just slam pack the top of the bottle full of sludge that never mixes in. Learned this the hard way too. When I first open a new bag, I will take a toothbrush I have for cleaning shaker bottles, and dry scrub out the zipper of the huel bag. Wherever they pack this stuff and seal the bag, there is often powder in the zipper. I do this until I'm able to get the zip to close. You can also just fold and use a clip, or dump it all in a repurposed protein powder jug or a big plastic tupperware. I like to mix my chocolate huel with chocolate vega sport protein. ~ 60g Huel, ~30g Vega. It's like drinking chocolate pudding. The coffee flavor has caffeine. May seem obvious but I learned the hard way after a sleepless night. Huel contains MCT oil from coconut. This has me searching for alternatives because I am mildly allergic. I used to use straight MCT oil and could immediately tell that the area around my nose would get itchy after taking it. The effect of the Huel is milder to the point that I've ignored it for years, but I figure it's time to quit giving myself mild allergic reactions constantly. This info is for anyone who might notice anything similar. Any new product may come with a gastrointestinal adjustment period. Oats are commonly associated with gas. You might want to get a digestive enzyme supplement along with your first order. I have never noticed a particular reaction with Huel myself, but it's pretty common that new proteins and fibers introduced into your diet will have an adjustment period and you may eventually decide you're not compatible if it never goes away.

Tastes good
While I do like the taste despite being very sensitive to pea protein, this does taste good mixed with soy milk, I've only done one scoop as opposed to the recommended two. The scoop size is absolutely MASSIVE and I don't think I would enjoy it with two scoops in one shake. Since my goal is weight gain/maintenance, I can just have it in two servings a day, so if your goal is weight loss I would just do one scoop, which is still 200 kCal & 20g protein. Good marcos, I like the added supplements, I would like to try the strawberry flavor next.

Worse than the emergency food you'll find in a prepper's bunker.
Are you like me, desperately searching for a meal replacement powder since your favorite brand's powder has been MIA for months? If so, LOOK ELSEWHERE. This stuff is garbage. It doesn't mix well in a shaker bottle no matter how much you shake. The texture is both viscous and...gritty. I swear they put sawdust in here. Even the NAME is terrible - it sounds like the noise you make when barfing, which I suppose is appropriate because that's what this stuff will make you want to do. They try to cover the flaws up by putting in absurd amounts of flavoring and artificial sweetener but it somehow just makes it worse. The moment it hits your mouth your taste buds beg for mercy. This stuff isn't even fit to be served through a feeding tube to a coma patient.

So far I really like it
I really like this a lot. I used to get soylent all the time but they were constantly sold out of the larger tubs. This one is actually more filling than soylent. The price is a bit higher but I like it more.

Results but very chalky
The vanilla flavor is really good to me. I just have to blend it for at least three minutes before everything is fine enough to drink and there’s no clumps. This is a very chalky protein. I like to make mine with peanut butter and banana and add a scoop or two to the mix, however like I said, I just have to put it on blend for 2 to 5 minutes in order for all of it to get blended up nice and evenly.

Yummy! And scoop measurement.
Fantastic flavor!! I have tried the chocolate, the banana, caramel and now the vanilla. All are excellent. Compared to other vegan proteins this actually tastes like food or a smoothie without the gross aftertaste so many other brands have. We are completely making the switch to Huel and so happy to finally enjoy getting my protein. Oh yeah and there is no scoop, but I don’t care. I have a measuring cup. Easy fix. Can’t believe how mental the reviews are around that. Their scooper is close to 1/3 cup.

Surprisingly tasty, dissolves well even with three scoops if you use their shaker or a mixing ball. Good macros.

I only use chocolate and accidentally got the vanilla flavor which was not bad. Did not cause any tummy issues with flavor change so all was good. I am back on chocolate again after finishing this.

Delivered faster that expected but unfortunately the wrong flavour: coffee caramel instead of vanilla. It’s still pretty tasty, flaxseed add fiber but not as versatile as vanilla which I wanted. Mixes well and I’d say it’s very filling.

I only use one scoop because I bought this as meal replacement to lose weight - if you have the 90g scoop it's 400 calories & this eats into my 1200 allowance, plus it's very sweet. I whizz it in my blender for a minute but it still comes out a little grainy. On the plus side, when I've had a glass for breakfast, I don't feel hungry and it does keep me going until lunch without craving a snack.
