As a very fair skinned, strawberry blonde, have tried dozens of brow solutions to make my "white" eyebrows visible without being heavy, too dark, artificial-looking, fuller, etc. This Brow pencil is perfect. It is a bit more golden-toned, and the pigment is truly fair enough that application doesn't look fake or weird. It is a pretty dry pencil, but, for very fair complexions, that is necessary for even application that won't be too heavy or look cakey and fake. It is smudge proof and this means I can also use brow gel after brow pencil application, and the gel application does not remove or lighten the brow color. I have complete control over where the color is deposited as well as now heavy the application is, and it is a perfect color for my fair, warm tone skin and red-blonde hair. It's also an excellent value and has a sharpener that comes with it.

I'm almost emotional about this little brow pencil. I used to have very light but used to be beautiful eyebrows, a few years ago I was hit in the head with a hockey stick, had a lot of stitches around left eyebrow area, since it healed there is a slight dent through my eyebrow where hair doesn't grow and the bone is just slightly wonky there so always bothered me to look in the mirror even though everyone said it's nothing. Everything I used was too dark or wouldn't stay in place then I found these very light pencils,, read the reviews they were pretty good so I got them and used them and I swear you can not tell that little space is filled in with a pencil at all, totally fixed that slight gash where there was no hair, so the shape is back to my brows and it doesn't hurt to look in the mirror. Stays all day, doesn't rub off or wear off til I wash my face. I'm very happy with this, though most people don't have the problems I did, I can tell you this is a very easy to use hard pencil that stays where you put it, the color is soft, not too dark and not too red. I would recommend it to anyone who is fair with light brows.

Not as much pigment as expected. harder material than Maybelline, which I have used.

I wrote the below comments, within the quotes, just after 30 day return period closed, but apparently forgot to submit it or I am being completely ignored. Note, the pencils were not opened until after the 30 day "I just opened these pencils today. I received them on March 17th and just trashed my old brow pencil. I had bought these as a backup and they are so dried out that they are not usable! They make no mark what-so-ever unless I really bare down on them, which hurts and pulls my brows out. I have lip pencils and eye-liner pencils that I have had for years and they are still usable. Unfortunately, I missed the return/refund date. I am really getting fed up with products received from Amazon and I'm just about ready to quit buying through them." As a long term and frequent Amazon customer, I am pursuing this refund once again. Once I have received notice of credit for these horrible dried out pencils, I will place the order currently in my cart. Otherwise, I will shop elsewhere. Sorry, but I simply cannot get over having been screwed by this vendor, and potentially ignored.

These brow pencils work well and I have been using them for years. I like that Cover Girl has colors that work well for those of us without either blonde, brown, or black hair. Mine is a lighter brown sometimes called "dishwater blond" and this works well. The little pencil sharpener is functional and doesn't take up much space.

It’s not soft enough! I ordered the brunette color (dark brown) and received the light brown instead! Color and tone really matter in make-up! It’s not one fits all!

After reading some negative reviews about this product I wanted to tell you why I continue to use these brow pencils for ten years now. First it is reasonably priced unlike many others. You receive two brow pencils along with a sharpener which is convenient. Now lets talk about the color because in those negative reviews I read, some said there was no visible color and another called the color orange. My description of the color would be to call it beige. I am very fair, light skin and light hair, so this pencil color fills in my pale brows very nicely. It is not orange. For those who claim it gave them no color at all I can only guess that those people have a healthy medium to tan complexion, in which case the brow pencil would so match their skin tone that it wouldn't appear as a contrasting color and that's understandable. I would recommend this particular color for someone fair like myself because it is the lightest blonde brow pencil I've found which is why I continue to purchase it after a decade. Most eye makeup be it mascara or brow pencil is way too dark for my taste, especially today when most of us are going for a more natural look rather than the gothic. If you're a darker blonde, tan skin or dark blonde brows it's probably not going to please you but I hope they keep making it for me :)
