Great zombie book; highly recommended.
I read this before reading: The Walking Dead-Descent, which precedes it. This is a great read as long as you're a Kirkman/Bonansinga and zombie fan. And hopefully will appeal to others who are looking for a suspenseful well written read. The characters are appealing and the main villain as reprehensible as any of his ilk. The plot is intricate and will seduce you into staying up all night. I find it great to pass the time quicker on the exercise tread mill at the gym, and that, for me, is enough to recommend the book for me and, hopefully, for others. But, I have to use max self-control not to read it at other times. So, I'm reading "The Girl in the Spider's Web" to reduce the temptation. I'm now reading the prequel: The Walking Dead-Descent. Almost, as good as Invasion.

good series, just not excellent
this review goes to all 6 books in the series. the story is decent, keeps you interested in what's coming next for the most part. some of the times that the main characters survive something are either too predictable or unbelievable, the author needs to work on that. my biggest problem is the lack of a good editor, at one point a character is a former marine and in the next book he was in the army; also a character is holding a 45 caliber pistol and the next sentence it magically became a 44 revolver. last but not least, author needs to watch those homonyms

Jay Keeps Woodbury Alive
You would think that a story that centers around one location through six books would be stale, but that could not be farther from the truth. Jay Bonansinga keeps the town of Woodbury alive and kicking like a walker that has taken a bullet in every part of its body except the head. Lilly Caul is a heroine to be celebrated, and one as full of flaws and weaknesses as she is strength of will and character. Good job on this one, and I look forward to the next two.

The Walking Dead is Always the Best
I always enjoy reading anything that has the words The Walking Dead. The story line is very catching and just surviving the dead world. Character’s are different from the tv show which makes it a totally different story. A must for any walking dead fan.

The book series, not the comics.
OK, I don't think I could ever read a Walking Dead Book. The books are the long written books, not the comics version. But my nephew who's spending a little time in jail has now read all the Walking Dead Books. He loves them and cannot wait to receive the next. So, fantasy, if you like this subject, then these books are an interesting read.

Kirkman's lack of involvement is really apparent.
I was disappointed with this one. The novels that Kirkman wrote with Bonasinga were better, obviously more thought out and character driven than when Bonasinga writes alone. Jeremiah felt like a cheap rewrite of the Governor and there was a lot of unbelievable events or things that didn't make sense. How could Miles bring the car to a stop if it had no brakes? How did Lily all of a sudden get a tow truck and bring it back so quickly? Too many things were way too convenient and not explained well. Character development is lacking to the point that I either don't have a sense of the characters or don't care about what happens to them. Not one character really stood out and grabbed my attention. It felt like Bonasinga was riding on Kirkman's coattails for this one, too much glossed over and not believable. Kirkman needs to either take the reins again or close this part of the series down because it's starting to lose what we love about the Walking Dead universe and become another money making spinoff/sequel.Another reviewer mentioned the overuse of 'threadbare' as describing people's clothing. Add 'detritus' and 'insensate' to Bonasinga's list of worn out adjectives. He needs to expand his vocabulary!

Back cover torn
My book arrived and the bottom of the back cover is ripped and looks like it was set in something wet.The bottom of about 50 pages or so have coffee or water stains on them. For some reason it won't let me attach the photo.
