Practical
I heard about the vagus nerve and its importance a few years ago so I am really interested in learning more about it. This book was concise, informative, although the language was quite difficult to understand sometimes. Overall, highly recommended.

Very basic information
I am a massage therapist and yoga instructor so I wanted to do some research on the Vagus Nerve. Book is very basic with minimal research cited or in depth examples. It seemed like the author tried to stretch a paragraph into a book.

I find this book very easy to read and understand. A great introduction on how important the Vagus nerve is and not too complicated or confusing.I read some reviews after ordering and some were quite negative but I’m satisfied. Thanks for writing this book

Interesting Information
The information in this book about the vagus nerve is very interesting. It is a part of the body that is not well known. This book highlights its importance in all the systems of our bodies and explains how. I liked the parts about how to stimulate the vagus nerve. Very interesting stuff!

So pathetically bad it made me chuckle.
I don't know if this book is a misguided attempt to promote the new, implantable device that is designed to stimulate the vagus nerve, or if it is just a flat-out joke or scam. Either way, it is the most poorly written and most poorly edited book I have ever tried to read (and I've read thousands). If you've ever laughed or cried trying to read the assembly instructions included with some foreign products, this is like that - except more repetitive and extremely condescending. It does lay out the fundamentals, but those are readily available online. Just say no.

Are you smarter that a 5th grader?
Book was not edited. Full of typos and words substituted that made me think the person writing this learned English as a second language. The sentence structure was odd at times. I don’t think the book was translated- it was just very odd. I’m sure the information is good, but the style of writing and lack of editing caused me to question the author’s knowledge of this subject.

You won’t find it here !
This is terrible ! Another reviewer has mentioned this already but the author seems to have no qualifications or evidence of this being peer reviewed by a clinician. I’m especially fond of the claim that anxiety attacks are as a result of not enough oxygen to the body and that your oxygen levels decrease hmm pretty sure hyperventilation as a result of anxiety attacks is actually a lack of carbon dioxide so the opposite is true ? There are also claims that the vagus nerve is responsible for fainting which is also a dangerous claim. I know of instances whereby electro stimulation of the vagus nerve has significantly improved quality of life it’s just a shame this author was unable to convey that in this terrible book. I’m afraid to say this is a total waste of money and time in my opinion.

Expert explanation, practical exercises for everyday living
I really like the book. It is written by someone who is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the link between health and the vagus nerve - new awareness for me.Concise and simply set out, without dumbing down - certainly sparked a true enthusiasm and routine I am sticking that I am committing too.

Disappointing book
I bought this book to learn more about the vagus nerve which I did up to a point. However the book is poorly written with spelling mistakes, typing errors, poor grammar. He often makes sweeping statements without any explanations. I also found it frustrating that there are no references or bibliography. There is no indication of Eric Hermann's qualifications or other books written by him. It does state on page 2, "Please note the information contained within this document is for educational and entertainment purposes only." Well it did make me laugh so I guess it fulfilled one of its aims.

Repetetive and simplistic
I was shocked by the poor quality of writing in this book. Seemingly written by someone with a low level of education in the English language, and ridiculously repetitive. Also no-one seems to have proof-read the book as it contains many spelling and grammar errors.
