Perfect replacement part at a fraction of the cost of the pool store. Quick replacement time and we were up and running again in no time.

It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to replace this part in my Pool Cleaner vacuum. It's actually quite easy once you figure out which parts to remove. On the down side, the original part failed (stripped gears on one side) after less than two years of use. This is the main impeller assembly for the vacuum cleaner, and I'm disappointed at the 'early' failure. Still, replacing this part may save you the nearly $500 you'd have to pay for a new vacuum at today's inflated prices.

After removing the top (3 long screws), remove the wheels to expose the holes to remove the axle. Be careful to note the direction fins are bent in and follow exactly. Slide axles out, replace the broken gear, slide them back in. I'm not sure if there's a better way to remove the "bridge" over the axles or even if it's necessary... I broke one retainer but it still works after putting everything back together.
