PLEX NAS/Easy Setup/Upgradeable
This is my second NAS Storage Unit, WD PR4100 Pro w/four 10TB Reds @ 7200rpm. My first NAS unit is a WD PR4100 Pro 32TB with WD Reds @5400rpm. I do hear the fan in this 40TB unit & notice higher temps around 122F - 134F, my older 32TB NAS has temps between 110F - 118F. I've had no issues with my older 32GB WD PR4100 NAS in the 4yrs I've used it & the newer 40TB WD PR4100 has been fine in setup and usage since purchase.

Do not recommend, save your money and get something else
What is the point of getting this NAS if it's frequently disconnected from the network??I'm a tech for major film scoring/music recording studios, I'm constantly looking for new backup solution or comparison with current products. After using the PR4100 for a month, I will not recommend this to any of my colleague or any of my clients at all.The dashboard is flakey, I had to deal with all the user accounts BS the first two weeks, PR4100 was set to a static ip after 192.168.1.150, had the firmware update set to Auto, received a notification two days ago about a successful update and then the connection is now lost AGAIN and all the trouble-shooting solution is useless.Forum is lack of information, WD doesn't seem to be helpful and address any issues, this product eventually survived one month and two days, ironically passed the return deadline.Take my advice and do not waste your money on this.
