Great read!
Wonderful book about the Pre-Raphaelites and perhaps the most forthright one about their complicated emotional and sexual lives. Great reading and nice discussion of their art, not to mention the public response to it as well.

Lives of the artists of the pre Raphealite Brotherhood
Detailed and accurate portraits of the entwined lives of the artists calling themselves pre Raphealites. I would have been interested to learn more of the lives of the women who supported them or modelled for them, but that would be another book.

Well written
While this is an historical work, it reads more like a novel. The pre-Raphaelites certainly led interesting lives that echo a rebellion against the time in which they lived. Highly recommended!

Truth is stranger than fiction
A good piece of history. Intriguing. They say truth IS stranger than fiction. Great rainy day weekend reading.

A desparately good read
Fabulous book, I learnt many fascinating facts about the PRB. Franny Moyle has really brought the Pre Raphaelites to life, from their determination to change the art culture of the time to their Bohemian lifestyles. They would have been the celebrities of their day.The colouful storyline made this an enjoyable read, and some of the small details included by Franny Moyle were excellent (addresses, place names etc.)Well worth a read if you are interested in the Pre Raphaelite movement or London Art during the 19th century.
