Roast Beef & Gravy, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)

I grew up loving Bunker Hill Beef and Beef Stock over rice. Sadly, Bunker Hill discontinued their beef and beef stock! Learning they had discontinued was one of my worst days ever. I've been looking for a product to take it's place, and by gum, I FINALLY found that replacement! While Hormel Roast Beef and Gravy isn't an exact match, if you had a half can of water to the gravy, it turns out almost identical to the Bunker Hill Beef and Beef Stock. And my family loves it as much I do! Now I get a case of Hormel Beef and Gravy every couple of months using Amazon's Subscribe and Save feature. If you grew up on Bunker Hill Beef and Beef Stock, you REALLY ought to try this Hormel product out. You'll love it! When I prepare it, I use a wooden spoon to break up the big meat chunks the same way my mom did when I was a child. This product brings back some really great memories of my childhood. More importantly, I'm giving my children the same great quick and super easy meal that I so loved as a child. And STILL love as a grandfather! I'm SO GLAD I found this product! How to prepare it? Open the can. Dump the sauce and beef chunks into a saucepan. I use a wooden spoon in my cooking, and I use it to scrape out al of the gravy I can, then I use the tip of the wooden spoon to break up the chunks into small pieces. It only takes a few seconds to break up the chunks. Then I fill the can halfway with hot water. Using the wooden spoon I get all of the gravy out, and I do mean all! After that, the meat is cooked so all you need do is warm it until it is hot. Then spoon it over rice, and you have a very tasty, great smelling, filling, SATISFYING meal! I love it! For the money, you get a great 3 minute supper. The rice? 20 minutes, 1 small glass of rice and 2 small glasses of water. Just 2 pots to clean gives you a meal that will be a family favorite! Serve it with Southern cooked green bean s and potatoes and a tall glass of sweetened Southern iced tea - what could be better?

It's quite good, not sure if 5 star good but I think its good enough to warrant full rating. I would buy it again. I usually buy

It is good. My son loves it with mashed potatoes, when I don’t have much time, or energy, to cook.It tastes good!

Growing up for a quick easy meal, we made fried potatoes and onions and when almost done we would add this to the skillet with a can of green chilies, a little butter and dinner without much of a fuss and I still love it as an adult. Some people may think “ick” canned roast beef but is is lean and tender and the gravy is really good. You can also heat it up and add it to noodles and baked potatoes. So many quick and easy ways to serve.

I live in a van and struggled to eat beef in a can but tuna and chicken got boring. Then I realized this is the same meat as Dinty Moore beef stew ( a childhood comfort food). Now I'm happy to open up a can of meat.

I think this is something to be proud of. Brazilian beef chunks. Beefy. Not sure how hormel got their name on this one considering their other beef products, pattie lunch things, have reviews in the dirt.
