GaggiaCadorna Plus Bean to Cup Espresso Coffee Machine

Milk frother is automatic and has perfect results.The coffee blend is perfect and the variety of coffee types keeps everyone happy in the office.Unusually, take the 'hot' setting and the cappuccino, latte, cafe au lait are all HOT, not something you normally find.Don't know why anyone can find something to complain about here. It's steam based and keeps warm so a byproduct of that is .... dripping water, hence the 'drip' tray. We are in London with about the most ridiculously hard water you can find, so a filter is compulsory and descale once a month. Simples.

Where do is tart without writing a novel length review?The good: Plenty of choices and makes good coffee.The bad: Only makes good coffee when it is functioning.Water drips regularly from steam spout even if machine in standby.The drip tray is full after brewing only four or five coffees.The steam or hot water sometimes does not stop spouting evn after pressing STOP which can be highly dangerous.The brew group needs thoroughly cleaning at least once a week - very laborious.The machine requires descaling (with expensive Gaggia descaler if you dont wish to void your warranty) approx every 30-35 brews or it gets blocked and instead of a cup of coffee you get a jet of scalding water from the steam wand!Worst coffee machine I have ever had. Now gone back to a DeLonghi Eletta which gave great service for over 12000 coffees and only died of old age.

I can't for the life of me understand why there is a bad review on this coffee machine.I have had many coffee machines over the years, but this one is the best for convenience by far.The reviewer made in my opinion several incorrect statements, which makes me think they accidently posted the review.Firstly, it does not need descaling after 35 brewsI have had my machine ( Bought elsewhere) for 8 months used 4 times per day and it still hasn't prompted me to descale.I have had Zero problems whatsoever.Please be aware this is a bean to cup machineIt does everything.The alternative is a machine with a separate grinder, the negative about that is its messy because you are cleaning up afterwards.With the Gaggia Cadorna its all contained, so internal grinder, this means the machine will indeed fill some water into the drip tray because it does a small rinse when you switch it on......of course it will fill the drip tray....guess what it takes 10 seconds to empty it....oh dear!!Take no notice of the previous review, its suspect IMO
