An Inspiration
If you’re looking for inspiration, this is the book for you.If you’re concerned that there isn’t enough good in the world, this is the book for you.HumanKind is one of those books that you can’t stop reading and then makes you want to send a copy to a friend. It will remind you what is most important in life while also motivating you to do your part and make a difference in someone else’s life. The author shares uplifting stories of ‘regular people’ who did 1 thing - donate $15, helps carry a suitcase, etc - and it changed someone else’s life. It seems to me that the author is trying to do the same thing - release one book - to teach the readers how easy it is to improve someone else’s life. Do yourself, your family, and your neighbors a favor and give this book a read.

An inspirational and instructional guide to contributing to the world
If you want to be an asset to your community, this is the place to start. This work pulls from the author's experiences of community support and love while supporting his wife through cancer. He also includes stories from around the world of how people's small actions have had profound -- sometimes universally profound -- positive effects on others.Every few pages brought a story that tugged at my heartstrings, elicited waves of joy, and sometimes moved me to tears. Although the stories are inspirational, what makes this book different is the "how to" that is offered. At the end of most chapters, the author asks introspective questions, and then summarizes ideas for action. He also provides a directory of organizations where you can take the first step towards caring for your community. If you're reading this review, you're probably looking for ways to ease others' suffering or bring joy to other people. Read this book now. It'll motivate you to contribute to your world and give you the resources to put kindness into action.

Exactly what we all need right now
We read this incredible book to our two sons at night before bedtime during the Coronavirus quarantine. It has been a weird and scary time for all of us, but especially for the kids. The incredible, uplifting stories in the book helped put a smile on our faces, occasionally a tear in our eyes and always an idea of something we can do for someone else. My favorites were the stories of small acts people undertook. Of course, starting a huge nonprofit is amazing, but some of the stories were things that just took a few seconds or a few minutes and really made a difference in someone's life. I started to understand its power when the morning after a big argument, my 6 year old wrote his 10 year old brother a note saying "you matter a lot" and ideas for things they could both do when they are upset rather than fighting with each other. It was a simple idea he had gotten from the book, but a moment the whole family needed. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

A heart-warming read: Hopeful, inspiring, and assuring
This book is a collection of amazing stories about people helping people, in big and small ways, with love and hope and kindness. What an uplifting read this is, at a time when we all need a little reminder about how human connections can impact the world. Aronson weaves in his own family stories of generosity (I loved reading about his Nanny!)—and the best part: real, actionable ways for readers to create change for good in their own lives, families, and communities. This book is truly something to feel good about!

Inspiring stories of love and kindness - antidote to the Twitter hellscape!
I'm naturally a cynic, and my cynicism has been hardened over the last few years with a constant and instant connection to the worst of the world via twitter and social media. The true stories in this book are the antidote to all of that. I challenge anyone to sit for 15 minutes of reading HumanKind and not be inspired. One chapter will make your day better. Read the entire book and you'll not only want to make a positive impact in the world, you'll gain a new understanding of how even small simple acts can make a massive difference in our communities.I highly recommend this book as your next COVID lockdown read!

Perfect timing for a special book like this one!
Oprah tells us to be kind. Ellen tells us to be kind. This book tells us HOW to be kind! I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this book. Read it cover to cover on a rainy, quarantine day! It serves as a mental checklist to be sure you are doing your part to make the world a little nicer. Brad’s writing is so personal, with humor and sincerity. You’ll learn that kindness doesn’t have to take a toll on your wallet. You’ll learn that strangers can quickly become friends and mentors. Most of all, you’ll learn that if you don’t have a Jewish grandmother, you are truly missing out! The world needs this book right now – enjoy it as I have!

Uplifting and Inspiring
I am so grateful to have this book to read (and revisit) while we are grappling with COVID-19. These stories are so uplifting during this challenging time! Not only does the author share stories of kindness of others, but he includes his own experiences of personal growth. I like that each chapter contains a “What We Can Do” section where the author shares personal stories or examples related to the topic of each chapter, as well as suggestions and exercises to explore ways to spread kindness. I found these very thought provoking. I can see reading through this book as a family or a group and discussing how we could work together to spread kindness. I highly recommend this wonderful book!

Perfect book for our current times.
This book will renew your faith in mankind. A collection of real-life stories of how seemingly simple acts can have a lifelong impact, not just one person but on communities and the wider world. So many heartwarming tales that show how being merely a nice person can boost someone in need and impact their future and the future of those around them. Think of it as a book that combines 'paying it forward' with the butterfly effect! A truly inspiring read that helped me have faith through the toughest part of lockdown.

Faith in Humanity Restored!
Watching the news usually makes me wonder if the world is running amok with monsters disguised as humans. It shows such an extreme side to humanity, all of it focused on greed, hate, corruption, and violence that it can leave you feeling depressed and unhappy which is why we need books like HumanKind. This book is like a little power pill that can restore our faith in humanity in a BIG way!Brad Aronson wrote this book in the wake of his beloved wife’s struggle with Leukaemia, which I find amazing. The Aronson family during their fight for Mia Aronson’s health found themselves surrounded by a lot of love and support from their friends and family who rallied around them and were eager to help in whatever capacity seemed best to Brad and Mia. This unflinching support in such a trying time showed Brad just how generous people can be when they’re moved by someone’s distress, and it pushed him to research and find other stories that are testaments to an individual's capacity and willingness to help others. That’s how this wonderful book came to be, and brought with it such incredible hope into the lives of its readers. It’s an easy read and any time you feel disillusioned by your fellow human beings, flip to any chapter and give yourself a little boost. This book will be especially useful for people who struggle with the idea of not being able to do enough when it comes to helping others. HumanKind reminds us that no act of kindness is too small, and usually, even the smallest act of generosity can have a massive ripple effect. We simply have to focus on doing our part, no matter how small.I love, love this book! It filled me with such hope, warmth, and love; it also made me cry, but they were mostly happy, cleansing tears. The proceeds from this book to Big Brothers Big Sisters charitable organisation, another wonderful reason for its purchase.I hope that everyone in the world reads this book and realise just how much can be done with small, little resources, and what a world it would be where every single one of us is doing its part in making the world a little happier and more inclusive for our fellow human beings.

Love this book
I'm not a big reviewer type, but this book is worth commenting on. I love this book's message (reminder) that little acts of kindness go a long way. It's a real pleasure to read the stories. If you need a reminder of what most of humanity is really like and what moves and fuels a lot of us, versus the loud attention-getting stuff we see all the time, give this book a try.

Hope-Inspiring Read
Every chapter in Humankind: Changing the World One Small Act at a Time challenges me to think about how I can make a real difference in my interactions. I say this because I find myself drawn to reread different chapters long after my first read.On each return visit, I find myself feeling better about myself and the world after rereading the hope-inspiring stories or choosing to do one of the many suggestions at the end of each chapter.
