Great book

Hated this book as I thought the attitude towards dogs was unkind (but then I am absolutely potty about my own dog so maybe a bit oversensitive.)

We found this book very useful for our first puppy. I've read previous reviews of how people complain about the book describing your pet as an animal, I do not see how it is offensive at all. The book is not a personal book (aw, you're baby, puppy, etc), it's a training book. It does the job well of explaining how to train your pet. Within the first two weeks our puppy walks along side of us and not tug us, sits, stays, give us paw, come and right now we are learning lay.

Bottom line, the book contains some helpful dog training tips. The pages are a quality glossy print with plenty of pretty colors and pictures. Perfect for the ADD person like me. The one thing I'd love to see are tabs to make it easier to thumb through to a certain section.

Purchased for my daughter. She's a real dog lover and like it a lot.

Really good book, very easy to read and well explained/described. Helped me a lot when I first got my puppy and had no idea what to do. Highly recommend it to anybody that's just got dog or that has had a dog that needs to learn anything.

Colin Tennant is great. He knows how to work with the dogs from a behavioral aspect and it makes all the difference.

Item was just as advertized - The book was in new condition. Delivery was speedy

This author, although very successful with training, doesn't seem to value dogs as a part of the family. There were a lot of "your dog is an animal, not to be treated like a person" ideas and many of them seemed a little cruel to me. Our puppies are learning in a loving way... I returned this book because I felt like there was very little love or consideration of the dogs' mental well-being in his methods.
