I Remember You: The bone-chilling haunted house ghost story from the queen of Icelandic Noir

Makes you wonder how many events in life,seemingly unrelated are actually parts of a big puzzle. Very haunting and beautiful. Every character in the book had flaws and every charater had reasons to be flawed.

This book was great from start to finish. Bouncing between the two narratives gave a really interesting perspective on the story's unfolding. It genuinely freaked me out a few times and had to stop reading it at night. The writing was wonderful, the imagery was very clear and the story completely sucked me in. I find myself still thinking about parts of the book weeks after finishing it.

This book was very, very good. The writer is an excellent story teller, juxtaposing ghosts with true nature of terror, the human condition and what we can do to each other. There are many co-occurring story lines of people at different points of their lives, to include how we are connected to each other, how cycles live on and how we can fall in them. This author has a very enjoyable way of writing detail that draws you into the smallest moments. Some of those moments are terrifying, and by the time you figure it out, you're in it - The moment. I've heard other reviews of this book mention that the text has been translated into English. This makes sense as you read it, sometimes what one might think naturally comes first, comes second as the order of events go via the translation, perhaps. When I ran into a paragraph or scene like that, I just kept reading through it, knowing that it would all come together at the end. And boy is that ever the crux of this book - It does quite come right together all at the end. If you enjoy cold, somewhat uncomfortable psychological thrillers, and good ghost story, buy this book, and through it's narrative, take a trip to a cold isolated place - And I don't just mean Iceland.

Everything I looked for in a book and more. Thrilling, creepy, touching, with great characters. Now I have to take care of my sore fingers for turning the pages so fast. I'll definitely read that one again. Highly recommended!
