Flush lid nice shape sturdy
The lid fits flush which I was worried about cause we've had fruit flies before and it doesnt seem to attract them after 5 weeks of use. Doesn't smell when the lids closed. Looks great, matches the appliances. Its easy to clean theres no fussy bits. Compost bag edge is hidden by the lid frame. Lid comes off and can then be separated from the frame..not sure it's meant to be removed by bending right back until it snaps off but that how I've been doing it and it seems fine, it snaps back on securely so really sturdy...I would check the instructions on that first though in case its just luck that it hasnt broken! It gets emptied probably twice a week, only starts getting wet inside if there's packet salad as that stuff rots quickly, but peelings and fruit seems fine. Can go on the counter but I keep it on the floor next to the bin so people remember put food in there instead of the bin! It's shiny, slick and ergonomic I love it..sad but these things make me happy 😊

Smaller size compost bin is big enough!
We've been without one for a while now, not sure why.So, getting the right size to sit on the kitchen counter was most important as we like minimalist and mostly unoccupied space if possible. It arrived the very next day with Prime, well packed.Item is full grey coloured plastic, sturdy body, detachable lid and a handle that swings both ways. It's breakable for sure, but which food bin caddy isn't?!We put green decomposing bags in as shown on photo to avoid constant wash of the caddy. That said, food will smell onto the plastic, so after every use, we clean it out with antibacterial wipes.Green bag will be loose and thus make it harder to make it not collapse into caddy when food remains added. So, to avoid this happening, we remove the lid, stretch the green bag around before putting the lid back in, and with that securing the bag in the lid clip.It is so easy to use, cleans out well, doesn't smell, seals perfectly, is also stable, sturdy, compact, and of course of a light weight. It's without a doubt a value for money, and I'd recommend a small family to buy this if they don't have a big amount of food waste on a daily basis.

Oxo quality
Great design, works really well. Looks okay too. Stays clean, lid stays open on its own, keeps smells too minimum.

Perfect
I got the small size which is perfect for a single person as it’s rather small. Doesn’t take up much counter space. It is made from Good quality materials and looks cute tucked away in the corner on my worktop. Can be used with or without liners. Thus far no nasty smells leaching out, but it is winter so can’t comment on how well it would keep smells in, in the summerThe lid fits well with or without the linerNot too cheap but good quality so I’m happy.

Handy and sturdy food waste recycling bin
I keep my bin in the kitchen by the sink for any peelings from vegetables whilst I cook. I use a recyclable bag to hold the waste so I have less to clean when I throw the remains in my compost dalek or my green bin. The unit contains the smell really well and it is possible to open it easily whilst my hand is full of to peel directly into the large opening of the bin to avoid wasting water to capture peelings then rinse away residue after transfer to the bin.We are encouraged in our area to also put food leftovers or meat preparation waste in the green bin but I can’t bring myself to leave rotting remains in direct sunlight for up to a week and then throw them by hand into the green bin as the bags (even recyclable ones) have to be thrown in the black general waste bin. I imagine the smell alone would force me to throw the whole thing in the black bin to get rid of it.The bin is very sturdy and looks great on the worktop, I have a feeling this will last a good while even with the content often causing condensation in the lid that can run down into the main body of the bin. I do make sure that I wipe the insides with a soapy water solution (washing up liquid) rather than disinfectant as it can make plastic brittle over time. The bin contains more than a weeks worth of veggie peelings for me I imagine it would contain enough for a week of about a 3/4 person family but if you put both peelings and leftovers / meat in there I would say it would need to be emptied at least every two to three days in summer.

This is the best one
It’s a good size, looks nice and does the job well, keeping the bag held in place instead of it flopping into the bin with the food, like most of the other bins. We tried one with just a ring to hold the bag, but sent it back as it was fiddly and ineffective. This one costs more than many but it is very good.

Tidy Counter Food Waste Caddy
Opted for 2l size, which means it doesn't take up too much space on the kitchen counter. Also means it doesn't spend weeks waiting to be emptied.Smooth, sloped interior ensures that it's easy to clean. It appears sturdy, handle to carry and genuinely seems a good thing for what it is. It has certainly enabled us to collect it and compost the vegetable/fruit peelings we have rather than putting straight into general waste.
