Excellent kit and reasonably easy repair!
This kit was a lifesaver! Here's the skinny: A week or so ago I left for work and the garage door opener worked fine. When I returned home that afternoon the door opened about a foot, stopped, and refused to go any further. A bit of investigation revealed that the cable on one side of the garage door had frayed and broken in two. The extension spring was hanging down at a funny angle. I released the cable and took down the spring, then tried to use the garage door opener, but with only one side "working" it would not budge. It's December here in upstate NY, which means that pretty soon the snow will blow in - I HATE scraping my car and wanted to get this fixed ASAP so that I could get the car back in the garage.I checked the yellow pages and only two businesses in the area worked on garage doors and both were 25 miles away, which meant that, at a minimum, I'd be paying for an hour round trip for the service tech before he/she even started to work on the door.I looked over the still-working side and the hardware and set up looked pretty straight-forward. I figured I could use that side as a template and did a quick Google/Duckduckgo search and hit on the cable replacement kit solution. Amazon listed a couple offerings and this kit looked both comprehensive and of good quality - it turned out to be both. With the proviso that I have never, ever worked on a garage door before in my life, I was able to replace the cable in under 30 minutes, which included moving some stuff around in the garage. It turned out to be a pretty trivial fix as home repairs go and VERY inexpensive relative to the cost of having a pro drive in from half an hour away. The only tool I needed was a 6' step ladder.I took my time, constantly double checked my rigging against the other, functional side, and made sure that everything was tight and trim before giving the door opener a try. It worked flawlessly the first time, much to my relief. My guess is that if I can do this, more than likely anyone with basic fix-it skills could probably do it as well. I don't know how much a service call from one of the garage door specialists would have run, but my guess is something in the "over-$100 and less-than-$500" range. Compare that with less than $25 for parts and 30 minutes of my time and think this is a good deal. Also, it is definitely something that one person can do unassisted. The thing to keep in mind is that the kit comes without instructions - just FYI. You'll need to either know what you're doing or be able to look at one side and figure out how the rigging is set up. More than likely there's a video on YouTube or something similar - I didn't need it, but that would have been Plan B if it came to that.Lastly, I would unhesitatingly recommend this seller! I needed this kit pretty quickly and it shipped quickly and was exactly as described.I'm no expert on this type of thing but would be more than willing to try and address questions (based on VERY limited experience!)Good luck!

Great garage door kit!
This is an absolutely great product! I bought a house with a one car garage door that had extremely stretched extension springs and badly frayed cables. The existing door didn't have adjustment clips and was very poorly installed. After a little research online I figured I could fix it rather easily and do it right. I initially tried to buy all the parts locally at a big box store and couldn't find the adjustment clips anywhere. Once I saw this product I returned the S-hooks and cables I bought from the big box store and bought this kit. I got everything installed this weekend and now I have a working garage door! For those with a single door it's great that 1/8" and 3/32" cables are included. You can use the 1/8" cables for a little extra peace of mind and use the 3/32" for the safety cables or if you already have safety cables you can save the other set for the next time you have to replace the springs. The cable clamps, and compression sleeves and stops are a nice addition as well. Don't waste your time at the big box stores. Buy this kit with free shipping and get your door fixed the right way. I feel good knowing I'm supporting a small family owned business as well.

Flexible garage door cable replacement kit
I had to install springs on my garage door because the prior garage door used an unexposed torsion spring to counterbalance the weight of the door. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the cable attachment kit at the big box stores. So I bought this one. To my pleasant surprise, it had cables of 2 different gauges and matching fasteners. So, this should work with doors of a range of sizes and weights. I am unsure what the maximum weight it will support, though.

Good
Worked well. Came with two widths, but arrived in a stapled ziplock bag :/ Wish it had something to safety off the cut edge (I didn’t have the equipment to solder). But totally fixed my problemSo I am very happy.

Everything you need!
I had a broken cable on my overhead garage door. I bought this kit because it appeared to have all the parts needed to correct any cable problem. I was right! This kit is all that I needed to replace the lift and safety cables on my door. It was shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. No further sourcing of odds and end pieces was required to complete my repair. It would be a great idea to have a spare kit on hand for any emergency repair that might pop up. buy with confidence.

Good quality garage door cable
I purchase this product because the cable on my garage door had snapped. The cable was of extremely good quality and was a drop in replacement. I only used the cable and not the hooks or the flat metal piece used for securing the cable, because they were much thinner (seemed weaker) than the ones that my garage door was already using. That isn't to say that they wouldn't have been able to handle the load, just that there was no need for me to use them since I had better ones in my possession.
