SEAC Libera, Full Face Snorkeling Mask

Don’t waste your money.
I bought four new masks for an upcoming vacation and thankfully we tried them out in our pool first. Very disappointed. Two out of the four had a missing part in the tube that makes them work half way correct. I researched masks that weren’t made in China due to quality standards and found this company. You think you’re getting an Italian made product. Nope. “Designed in Italy” it says, but manufactured in China. Nowhere on their actual website or amazon does it say that. You think you’re getting a quality product, but it’s not. Don’t waste your money. Very uncomfortable mask compared to the Wildhorn I already had.

The BEST full face snorkel mask! Great for lap swimming if you have neck issues!
I have severe DDD and have trouble turning my neck to breathe while swimming, so I’ve been using a full face snorkel mask in the lap pool for a few years now. I also have severe asthma, so it was especially important to find a mask that has been extensively safety tested— and this one is the safest you’ll find!My previous mask (a no name/knockoff brand) was apparently leaking some CO2 from my exhalations, so I wasn’t able to swim as far before needing to remove it. I’d occasionally feel dizzy or even nauseous as a result. But I don’t have any of those problems with the Seac mask! With the design of this mask, the CO2 from your exhalation exits the mask thru little holes near your forehead area— unlike some full face masks and traditional snorkel masks, where your exhalation and inhalation is thru the same snorkel tube (Since the snorkel would still contain some CO2 from your last breath every time you take a new breath, you wouldn’t be getting the same amount of fresh oxygenated air with other designs). The only drawback— and it’s a completely minor issue— is that you will hear and sometimes see little bubbles in the water as you exhale. But I’d much rather breathe better, and hearing and seeing some light bubbles as I swim is a non issue!Just make sure to MEASURE your face and test the fit before swimming. This is so important because if the interior chamber of the mask doesn’t line up correctly with the bridge of your nose, or if the mask is too large, it just won’t work. You’ll either be breathing in CO2 if it’s too small, or if it’s too large, you’ll get a face full of water… so take the time to measure. FWIW, I’m a 5’9” woman and the small/medium Seac mask fits me perfectly (even though my previous mask was a size L).Also before using one, practice taking your mask on and off as many times as you need to, until it becomes second nature/muscle memory. Just a safety tip, but this is very important with any type of mask you’ll be using in water.Breathing is very natural with this type of mask, and the fit and design of the Seac mask is superb! The dry top snorkel is easily removed (just press tabs on both sides of the tube, at the connection point and give it a wiggle). No fog, great visibility, no problems at all! Just perfect in every way!

Tubing will not attach securely to mask
I researched snorkeling masks these were at the top. Note that these are made in China but seems like good quality. However I was not able to attach the tube to the mask. Not matter how hard I tried, it would not click into place and came out with the slightest touch. I returned it because I thought I got a defective one.But when I got the replacement, it had the same issue. Only this time it felt more snug but still did not click into place and came out easily. I looked online for a solution - found nothing. Did see a YT video review and the person clicked it easily into place and it stayed put. There is no customer support option from the company so I will have to return this one as well and select Wild Horn (the runner up in reviews) instead. The "manual" also states that the tube clicks in connection. So it looks like a bad batch of masks. I hope no one else thinks this is how it's supposed to fit and find out too late when they are in the water that the tube will come out easily.

Best full face snorkel mask
I ordered a few of these for everyone in the family to use and they are amazing! We love the quick release buckles and the overall shape of the mask that makes for seeing more underwater than others of this type. The mask also doesn’t seem to fog up or have any problems beading water off of it. We all settled on the small size despite ordering some large as well. The size differences are very small and are more about the face piece width than anything else. If you feel you have a wider face then the large would be your best bet, but for use it was too wide to make a good enough seal. The only downfall of these is the snorkel tube takes some effort to snap in place so we just leave ours together whenever we can. The breathing is easy and care free and I never feel like I’m not getting enough air even when I’m exhausted from swimming. I got addicted to the full face snorkeling experience and these were a worthwhile investment we have used many many times and they never let us down.

Almost killed me due to lack of oxygen
Didn’t know this until after I purchased it. Although SEAC is one of the better full face masks, these types of masks suffer from the risk of carbon dioxide that you expel not getting removed effectively from the mask, especially if the seal around your nose and mouth fails for whatever reason. We are out in the ocean and both of us suddenly found ourselves gasping for air as we had gradually been rebreathing CO2 more and more due to this problem. These masks are ok if you don’t plan on doh g any exertion, but if you have to do any reasonable swimming and your muscles and body need more oxygen then you can be in trouble. We almost drowned except for being closer to shore and being able to find a shallower area to stand in to recover our oxygen. Search the internet for articles in these types of masks. Some scary reports of tragedies, and they’re banned in some areas. Returned these and are going back to conventional snorkel gear that doesn’t have this risk.

Great product-inconsistent packaging
Looks like itll work great for a trip down south. Quality gear.I Ordered two, one pink and one aquamarine. One came with a mesh storage bag and one didn't. Also the snorkel fitting is different, one has a one way silicon valve and one does not. Im not one to complain....but how does one miss a mesh bag to be packaged. SEAC reach out, id like the proper storage for this.Update:worked amazing while snorkeling in Cuba, unbelievably more comfortable breathing and in the chop still kept the water out. Ensure the straps are tight enough as waves can create leaks momentarily. Worlds above mask and mouth piece for the general surface snorkeler

Great product!!! Shipping was on time and Mask is fantastic!
Amazing mask. Materials are all surrounded with silicone providing a comfortable and tight seal. Best part is the oxygen in CO2 out set up. In other masks we quickly noticed a labour in breathing and build up of CO2. In this mask there is no issue!!! Great product. I purchased the model below for my son which offers a silicone seal around the face and non silicone straps which don’t pull on his hair when putting on and taking off which he loves!!! Both masks are fantastic!!

For ease of snorkelling this mask is great.
Took a while to get used to the mask but once you do you forget all about it. Unlike a regular snorkel and mask there is no biting down and very little leaking at the mask. The snorkel automatically closes when under water so no having to blow water out. If you like to dive with your mask on it will be much more difficult in this type of mask. I like to stay on the surface so no issues.
