I read this book many years ago but I didn't have a copy. This is a book that I had to have in my home library

I remember reading this book as an assignment for school. Very interesting read - this book takes you to the 60's era, civil rights; a young black man trained by the CIA to help defused the "trouble" they are having with blacks in the city of Chicago. He uses his taught skills to help other young black men survive the racial oppression put upon them by those running the government. Such a sad reality; that such a book had to be written for us to know the truth of how one people is treated

I have heard so much about this book including the fact that the now deceased rapper Nipsey had this book as part of mandatory reading for the young men he mentored. After reading this book I saw why. I did not know that both this book and movie were banned at a period of time because of its content. This book demonstrates the power of the intellect especially when it is not expected. We should never count out anyone because of the color of their skin or their demographics. This book proved that. I don't want to give away any spoilers but my recommendation is for everyone to read this book. It is worth it!

I love this page turner!!

I watched this movie many years ago before reading the book, and there movie left an indelible imprint on me. Having more knowledge now about the oppression and racism of this era, the book is simply outstanding. Discussing the opposing views of poor blacks, blacks with success who still in white society are viewed no different than poor blacks, racist whites, insincere liberal whites this book captures there era it was written excellently. Highly recommend.

It was described exactly, but the stain is a little off putting, but it’s gonna get read! I would not hesitate buying again.

Magnificent book, I am an avid reader and I definitely recommend reading this book and keeping it in your library for yourself and everyone you hold dear. It’s a stapler that will reposition your thought process and align or realign you with how things are viewed in this country and one’s approach to it in truth.

This will change the way you look at history by reading this book. The history of one man who learns all the ends and outs without going into detail of the background before he became who he head designed ideally for the betterment of culture. It will show a few in-depth details of how communities are plagued by the same issue in today’s society. It only had one error on page 234 second paragraph, you(R).

Sam Greenlee is a wonder. This book had a profound impact on me at first reading. At the second reading I knew I had to own it.It’s a phenomenal story, check goodreads for the reviews if you’re a skeptic.
