Precision Brand 316 Stainless Steel shim is made from soft (annealed) tempered material. Type 316 Stainless Steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemical, salts and acids and most marine atmosphere because of an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 or 304. Type 316 is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine and textile finishing equipment.
