One of the best inside dance books

Not the narrative we might expect from a male dancer in the 1950s and 60s. Hodes is a great story-teller - funny, observant, wry. Memoirs from elders like this, spanning decades, wars, culture shifts, art, changing social conventions and global politics, are under-valued. Read this book.
