Works great on the same circuit breaker!!
Pros: Fast, reliable, easy to use, affordable.Cons: No manual, no help files, no support area or FAQ on Trendnet website, incorrect setup instructions, no troubleshooting information comes with device or is found online. Powerline utility has some options but without help files or a guide explaining how to use it is useless.Well, I've had the kit for 2 weeks and after some struggles once I got it working it was smooth sailing. Did experience a red light(on the far side of the house)and some problems syncing because instructions are nonexistent and the installation information provided is actually incorrect(The PL light isn't the one that blinks, the power light is the one that blinks after you release it). Getting 340+ Mbps up and 360+ Mbps down in the same room and same circuit. When I tried it on the far end of the house is when I got the error. Zero information on what that red light meant or how to reset the device or troubleshooting on their web site. The utility that comes with it has no help file and doesn't work unless connected directly to an adapter. There is no tutorial which renders the utility useless outside of tell you what kind of connection speed you are getting. I plan to buy another kid in the future. It would be nice if the instructions were correct and came with troubleshooting steps and explanations for features in the utility and how to use it. Perhaps a connection test should be added to analyze and trouble shoot the quality of the connection. Maybe one circuit/outlet is better than another but who the hell knows without the tools to really test this. I use it for gaming and so far it is as good as an Ethernet cable as far as I can tell.

A major disappointment. Very poor customer service
Pros: If the power adapters are within 30 ft., performance is very goodCons: Poor performance outside of 30 ft. Performance degraded rapidly with distance and was not better than my WD power adapters. One of three units defective out of box. Customer service is extremely poor and Trendnet showed little interest in addressing or discussing this.Summary: I purchased these units with high expectations given the very favorable CNET reviews. The units failed to meet my expectations in every way.I purchased three units to replace an existing Western Digital power network that I currently have in my home. One of the three units was defective out of the box, but it was nearly impossible to troubleshoot because there was not an owners manual included. The box contains a quick start guide and a CD that is supposed to contain all relevant documentation and monitoring software. The owners manual on the CD was actually the quick start guide. I then turned to the Trendnet website and downloaded what was supposed to be the owners manual. It too was the quick start guide.I then decided to phone customer service. Like with most tech companies, the customer service desk appeared to reside in India. I spent approx. 45 minutes on the phone with the technician and his supervisor and didn't make any progress towards determining the cause of the issue. I experienced such poor support and found so many issues with the website support, that I decided to quit wasting my time. The entire Trendnet experience was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had.Prior to packing the units up and sending them back, and with two working units, I decided to test their performance. From within 30 ft., I experience communication rates of 200-300Mbps. From outside of 30 ft., performance very quickly declined to a point where it was not better than that of my much older Western Digital units. At approx. 50 ft. I experience rates of approx. 70 Mbps. (the same as my WD unit). At 90 ft., I experience rates of approx. 20 Mbps (worse then my WD unit).Final conclusion: Based on my experience with Trendnet and their equipment, I would strongly suggest not purchasing their equipment. If you are in a small condo or apartment, this could be for you, but why not just go wireless?

Heard mixed reviews on the powerline technology, but decided to try it since I have some vaulted ceiling presenting for tricky and tedious wiring. Been very pleased with the result. On my main desktop I have had no problems gaming and streaming. I work at home part-time using a remote portal system and have had no problems. I still have a HDD so my speed is reflective of that but my latency and overall speed is very comparable to my previous ethernet connection. Plan on trying other parts of the house. Only complaint is the sync function does not work. Tried 5-6 times to use the sync function since I wanted to have an auto generated encryption key and could not get the unit to sync. I was able to easily reset and get them to connect. Should note the power feature does not seem trigger if connected to a network switch or if computer is sleep mode. Overall very satisfied with the results and have purchased additional units to expand to other rooms.

Loses sync
Will let you know.. This is the third one I have had in the last 6 months.. Its fine to install finds its sync with other trend net straight away. Last two after not even two months it loses sync.. Have tried sync /restart and anything else and it doesn't work. So maybe third time lucky.. Not sure what the fault is?

Very happy to have a non wifi no wire running option ...
They work very well at extending the network into my basement where I previously could not get any connection. Used in conjunction with a second set of these with the pass through plugs and a 500 AV2 also. Very happy to have a non wifi no wire running option to network out large older home.

Well made, convenient size, easy to install, improves internet.
Well made, easy to set-up, and provides a great Internet connection to a previous household WiFi dead zone. The first product I received had perhaps been opened/used (given the condition of the box/contents), but Amazon customer service quickly sent a replacement. I chose not to change the built-in encryption because of household use as well as using WiFi routers at both ends. Everything seems to be working well other than a speaker hum (apparently known to such devices since 2012) which I "fixed" by swapping in a USB powered mini-speaker system which, while probably not the greatest sounding audio, eliminated the hum. It has been a few days now and I'm please with how well the adapter has provided good/fast internet. I kept my installation simple and it seemed to work out as a good/easy solution.Update: December 21, 2017 It has been 11+ months since installing/using this powerline adapter. I am still very pleased with how well it operates. If I recall correctly the WiFi speed in the household den dead zone is something like 36 Mbps which is plenty lots for Netflix and browsing. As for the hum I moved the powerline adapter from my home office to the ISP's equipment in the basement where I used a switch to add ports including one to the adapter. The hum has disappeared from my original/old computer/audio speakers. All is good.Update: December 29, 2017 My second Adapter Kit arrived a couple of days ago. I plugged one unit into an electrical outlet in a bedroom to connect to a Blu-ray player which provides Netflix. Again the speed was something like 36 Mbps. There was no configuration required - it was just plug it in and attach an ethernet cable to the player. One thing I noticed - if the Blu-ray player is turned off then the powerline adapter isn't using bandwidth (which is good for other users in the household) unlike an adapter used with a router which broadcasts WiFi whether or not someone is actually using it. I still have one unit in the box (from the second adapter kit) which I may keep as a spare or perhaps I'll think of somewhere else in the house which needs faster internet vs. using a WiFi repeater.

Great Product, Great Value!!
I bought the TPL-408E2K to replace my Western Digital Powerline adapters.. I was looking for new/faster Powerline adapters and after reading several reviews .. I decided on the TPL-408E2K... They are great! Very Fast and very stable.... Installing was so easy !! Just plug them into the wall electrical outlet, connect your Internet.. Absolutely love this product.. Recommendation is to buy two (2) TPL-408E2K Kits.. if you need more than 2 adapters.. (i.e. 4 in total) it is more cost effective to buy the two Kits rather than a single adapter.. Pricing from Amazon was the best.. and service/delivery from Amazon was great as always!!
