veery nice needs a clip to keep top closed in strong wind made one myself but would be a good add on feature birds like it too

This is a beautiful bird feeder, but it is not very sturdy. It fell to the ground while I was putting it up on the pole and the top broke where the hinge is located. Since it is made of cedar, a large slice of the wood chipped off the top. I couldn't use it that way because the rain would get in and spoil the bird seeds. I think this will meet my needs perfectly and suit the birds as well. The extended perch enables larger birds to use the feeder also.

Meets and even exceeds expectations. Large enough to accommodate a variety of birds, all the way up to woodpeckers. Hinged roof makes replenishing easy. Arrived ahead of schedule in appropriately-sized box sufficiently padded to avoid damage.

The birds are loving it.
