More than just a Yoga book
While it would be nice to see drawings or photos of the poses or asanas, this is a pretty good book in what it does cover, which for one are the various yoga styles such as Ashtanga, Bikram, Iyengar and even Kundalini Yoga. Mia Conrad, the author, also goes into how to be mindful or present in everyday life by savoring our meals, focusing on one thing at a time and doing things slowly. The yoga positions that correspond to the seven chakras was some unique information for me and she had a section on Tai Chi toward the end of her book which I appreciated.

Good read.
Overall I think this is a really good book. Reasonably priced, and provides all the information you need to get started with some basic yoga poses. The book goes into a little bit of the history of yoga before provide the basic poses, some more poses for weight loss, and then information about chakras and mindfulness. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked to see some pictures for the poses, as it may have been helpful in making sure I have the right form. Overall though, I did really get a lot from "Yoga"

not for beginner as claimed
while this book claims its for beginners there are no diagrams or a picture of a pose so you have no idea what she's talking about

Nice descriptions but really should have pictures
I bought this on Kindle and it has no pictures. As a beginner, I would expect to be able to see the poses rather than read the description of them. Of course, if you use the "look inside" feature you just get the beginning and end of the book so you cannot tell if there are any pictures. Nice descriptions but really should have pictures.

Great preparation for the beginning yoga practitioner
If you attend a yoga class and the instructor starts talking about chakras and salutations, you might be wondering what the hell they are talking about. Too embarrassed to ask somebody at class? No worries. This book explains a lot of the yoga jargon that you might be unsure about. In addition, it describes some of the basic yoga poses and discusses some of the "whys" behind what you are doing. All in all, it is a great primer for the yoga beginner.

Yoga for weight loss
Gives descriptions of some basic poses for weight loss which is great, as well as some insights into mindfulness and meditation. There are no pictures but if you learn quickly this is a great little guide to get started with yoga. Definitely good for building muscle.

Very Good Book!
Good solid read. As a yoga teacher, I always enjoy reading books about yoga. This book gives you a very good introduction into the meaning of yoga and how yoga (and breathing exercises and meditation techniques) can help you lose weight and cam and quiet your mind. Good selection of yoga poses, clearly explained about how to do the poses.

I accidental clicked on buy and now I'm really upset. I had a look at the book too, and it's just some awful rubbish.
