Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play, Tote-A-Train Playbox

It’s said used , It looked like new and got it before the delivery date I was given. My son goes everywhere with it because it’s not too big or too small.I was so glad I found this seller. I’ve been looking everywhere for it.

We have had this tote for a year and a half and my son isn't gentle with things, but it's withstood his abuse and is still a great tote. The latches took some practice for his little hands to do independently but he can open and close it now (he's almost 3). I agree with what other reviewers said about the track inside being a nice concept but not functional in reality. The case has to be standing up in order for the track to attach to other tracks, which makes it hard to use. But my son just sets up the tracks separately (we have the Tidmouth Sheds set with the turntable and he loves that -- getting it used/cheaper is advisable for that item!) and uses this as simply a tote. For that it's great! If you are strategic with placement of smaller and bigger engines, you can fit a lot in this. We double up and can get as many as 20 or so in there. (Bigger/oddly shaped engines like the fire engines, Diesel 10, Harvey, etc. don't fit well, but we got the Fisher-Price Thomas The Train Take-n-Play On-the-Go Playbox and that works like a charm. We love this tote!

I like the concept, but sometimes the trains will only fit in a certain way, or particularly long trains either wont fit, or will only fit with certain combinations. Since my son is so young, this frustrates him, leading him to use it less. The clips at the top are also difficult for him to work, as he is not used to things that fasten that way. It is a latch system I haven't seen many places, but the catch swings free easily once you understand the direction it should go, it's just frustrating for the younger kids. Other than that very well made, cute, useful toy.

The reviews on this weren't so favorable when I bought it so I took a bit of a chance, knowing that my son's budding interest was going to be perfectly contained in this carry-along. Come to find out, it's durable, spacious and plenty fun! And you don't have to find something for the side to lean on to make the track be flat; my son uses his imagination and brings this EVERYWHERE!!!

This had so much potential to be a great part of my son's Thomas collection, but poor design has relegated it to the deep basement. First of all, the latches at the top do not simply pop up and down, but rather need to be lifted and slid into place - a skill my toddler does not have so I always have to open and close it for him. Once it's opened, there are two sides, the thicker side it made up of rows of shelves to store the trains, which is fine. The thinner half - like the lid, is a round track that has two places to attach to tracks you may already have. So here's the problem: Because of the way it's hinged, the case has to have the thicker half propped up against a vertical surface if you want the track to lay flat. That is super annoying because I don't have a handy vertical surface in the middle of every play area and if it starts slipping down, the track tips and everything spills out. It's very frustrating and could have been easily avoided with better product design.

I'm pretty disappointed. I made the mistake of assuming at least one train would be included given the pictures. My mistake. But what I was really dismayed about was how cheep this item feels. Very thin cheep plastic. I feel like if this thing takes a tumble, which it eventually will ( I have a 21 month old), it will shatter. It's a shame because this item has a lot of potential to be a great toy but the manufacturer didn't want to put the materials in to make it so. Probably to safe a buck. Such a shame.

Bought this for our 3 year old grandson who loves trains. Nice little tote to take his trains to our house when he comes over. The only thing I would have liked to see is handle to be thicker plastic. Not sure how long the handle will hold up. Worth the money.

My son has the track master trains which I assumed would fit. They do not, they are too large so I returned this item. Perhaps it's made to carry the wooden trains?

Muy chulo. Para guardar bastantes trenes y llevarlos a cualquier sitio. Incluye una pista para trenes muy práctica. Me parece un juguete muy práctico y original ya los peques les encanta.

Brought this for my son for Christmas to store all of his trains in, very happy with the size, easy to wrap too, going to have a very happy little boy Christmas morning. Came within 2 days of ordering

Very nice box. Good quality. Fits about 12 engines. My 4 years old boy loved it.
