Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair (Nintendo Switch)
**
If you love the Donkey Kong Country games on SNES, you will love this!
Physical games are the way to go. This worked right out the box, with Switch updates you may have to wait 10 minutes before you can play game so keep in mind, but once it starts you get straight to playing and jump right into story! This has awesome visuals for 2D platformer and is made by the people behind Donkey Kong Country series on SNES. It shows this was made by people who really care,it gets you hooked with it’s easy pick up and play and the music is spot on really good. Only one small gripe,is it does have long load times, but for how good the gameplay is you will hardly tell and just like other DK Country games,it’s easy at beginning but spikes up on difficulty. I’d give it a try for sure and to me you can’t play a better platformer on Switch than Yooka Laylee and The Impossible Lair!

This is a great game
This game is a really fun and really challenging platformer. I love it. This was made by people that worked on donkey Kong country tropical freeze so I had to check it out and wasn't disappointed

I’m bananas for Yooka-Laylee
Not satisfied with blatantly ripping off a certain iconic duo of the 3D platform era in their first outing, Yooka Laylee this time attempts a go at the 2D platform genre with more than a little inspiration from a certain banana loving primate.Fortunately this imitation succeeds spectacularly with the result being a fast paced, wild, creative, quirky and dynamic fun packed thrill ride and one of the best platformers available on the Switch. When you add to this a puzzle filled explorative overworld and some unique gameplay elements, including a novel approach to game progression (never before has a game asked me to play the final level first?!) then the end result is a platform classic to rival even its legendary simian counterpart.

Not impressed
Sadly I wanted to enjoy this game but just didn't, it is a decent throwback to older 2d platformers especially the types of donkey kong country which this seems to play most like, the idea of freeing enough bees as you complete each level so you can finally complete the impossible lair at the end is solid but the game has enough issues that for me someone who has played Nintendo platform games for over 35 years this game feels unpolished and not just difficult by design but because of bad design choices.I often had issues with the controls which in a game that needs precision for its platforming sections is an issue, for example very early on in the world map I was stuck as I couldn't make a jump because my button would not register in time whether I used my pro controller or my switch undocked this type of thing happened often causing missed jumps and unintended deaths which is very frustrating.Often during 2d stages due to level design, it is impossible to know whether the next jump is a safe one or if you will land in a pit until you have set off.overall the game is playable most of the platforming is okay but not great especially when the controls don't react fast enough but it is not as good as other platformers already available

Amazing 2d scrolling fun!
Wow, what a game.Really got that Donkey Kong Country vibe but with a Yooka Laylee twist. I could not put this down for well over a week when I first got this. Great music, great 2d platforming, perfection.

Yooka Laylee Reimagined
After the previous game I was curious to see how this one would be and I have to say it's a massive improvement I like the fact they switched the gameplay to 2D and made it a lot more challenging which I like. If you like Classic donkey Kong games this is the game for you.

Not a great game
Got this for my son, as he'd recently got a switch, to get him a few more games, good price, but he doesn't play it, I'd suggest just saving up and buying fewer good games like Mario kart and tetris, this just didn't hold his attention for long,
