Simply Needlefelt Paperback – April 1, 2009

Okay, this is a tough book to review because it certainly was well-done, with excellent photos and instructions, but I felt it was lacking in inspirational vision. Yes, wool felt has limitations, but I personally do not believe that all wool felting work needs to look like it survived the age of Woodstock! I enjoyed the information in the book, but felt that had it gone just a bit further into designs less conventional it would have truly been a great book. What I did take away from this book was the 'how to' do something, and armed with that information I will venture down the road less traveled in wool felt work and see if I can create something a bit more refined and less 'hemp hippy' inspired. Overall a great book for the how to information, but lacking in fresh designs.

A friend loaned me this book and I immediately loved it! She's been teaching me to felt and this book has far more usable projects than any other I've found. I already had all of the tools and even knew a little bit about wet felting but this book takes you through all of the felting processes and does it in an easy to follow manner. The pages are laid out in a 'learn as you go' progression and offer current and fun projects so you get to peek ahead and dream about what projects you'll want to try. Simply Needlefelt offers just the right amount of information and photos to keep the process fun while learning what you need to know!

This is a fabulous Needlefelting book full of gorgeous blooms that will long out live the real thing. They are simple & fun with tons of room to tweak and make them your own. Love this book & highly recommend from beginners to skilled felters!

Fantastic book for wool felting. It appears to be brand new and not used. I gave it 4 stars because the author didn't include felting landscaping projects and that is my interest. This book covers the basics for all types of wool felting. It is worth the purchase.

a good basic book for all types of needle felting. However, this book has too much sewing in it for me and not enough true needle felting projects using the needle and wool roving.

Very excited to do several of the projects in this book. I love that it combines both types of felting.

I was struck by the flower brooches on the cover, so I purchased this book, but it's only average for information. I generally don't judge books by the projects offered, I always buy them in the hope that there's a little gem of technique that I can use but this is just a general book with nothing new to add to the needlefelting canon. If you're a beginner, it's ok, but it's nothing extraordinary.

Lovely book. Good introduction to needle felting and inspirational. Had privilege of meeting Jayne and she is a lovely person. She has inspired to try felting and have made few of the items shown in the book. Easy to do step by step.

A good starter book as I have just bought a needlefelting machine. Lots of ideas and interpretations of the original design. A good buy for begginers to feltin as it also covers hand felting as well.

I am just starting out on needle felting and this book is excellent for a complete beginner. Clear, precise information. I now feel confident to start my first project.

I fell in love with this book, it has clear instructions and wonderful photos of the finished creations so am looking forward very much to creating something beautiful from the book!

This book is great, very inspiring, so much better than the beginers guide to needle felting by Susanna Wallis,have learnt loads from it and love the way Jayne mixes needle felting with other materials yes it really works
