It works, and wonderful customer service.
This is my second order of the Carpenter bee traps. I was a little reluctant placing the first order but after seeing how well they worked, I ordered a second set. One of the two traps was defective and I contacted the manufacturer, but I did not hear back from them right away. In his defense, I only gave him one day. I returned the items to Amazon and requested a replacement, which they sent. Then the manufacturer reached out and said they wanted to take care of it right away, but I explained Amazon made the return process so easy, I had already gone through them, but I appreciated them reaching out.Two days later I received my Amazon replacement shipment and two more traps from the manufacturer directly. That some of the best customer service I've had in a long time.

They do work
The traps I have are amazing. They attract the bees and capture them.

Smaller then expected not effective
They look well made. However the mason jars are smaller then I expected. They do come with attachment hardware. They seem to be constructed well. They are small and I feel they are pricey especially knowing these drilling bees are quite big. At least here in Michigan, we grow them really big... unfortunately.I don’t know if they are effective. I just put them up and no bees the first day! If they don’t work, they will become expensive little bee traps.Update: terrible traps... have not trapped one bee. These are over priced and ineffective! However well made. Would not purchase again!

I had to wait a few weeks but then it worked
I never expected these traps to eradicate the carpenter bees from my yard but the bees are so annoying, I got the traps just to have some satisfaction that I'm doing something. After hanging the two traps over my back deck. nothing happened for about 2 or 3 weeks - I thought that I was the one who was "caught". But then, as the weather warmed, and, it seemed, that as soon as one bee got trapped, both traps became quite active and I catch one or two bees a day.

Caught One After A Week.
When I first installed it, there was nothing to report for days. So I went further through reviews for advice and found someone saying putting a dead bee into the container would lure others inside. So, I needed a dead bee.Because I just attract what I want, I went outside and saw a dead bee lying legs up right there on my deck. I put it inside the trap. (First photo). After 7 days, a saw a second bee inside the trap, apparently having been lured into by the dead one. That method apparently works a lot better than just putting up a trap and continuing on with life. Since I have two traps, I'll now install the other with the 2nd bee.UPDATE: 10 bees caught in total using both traps. These things are very good.Win.A.

For the price, not working well; others work better
Those green wasp catchers work way better and are half the price

Works pretty good!
Just bought a new house in Tennessee and I was unaware of the carpenter bees that were tearing our deck apart. I bought these traps and they have worked pretty well. We have noticed a significant decrease in bees however as the weather gets super hot I see them less anyway. However the trap pictured has gotten about 6 on its own. I did kill one by hand and place them inside the trap as mentioned by others to help draw more in. This has been pretty effective. The only con I could think, Granted the lumber prices are stupid right now, is the price of these. But I guess it's still cheaper than bees tearing the wood on my house apart.

Does the job, but lack of 'finish' allows sun to break it down
This unit works. It is solid wood and that wood seemingly doesn't like lots of sun. I've caught over 30 bees in one trap, and appreciate the design. It would be beneficial with the high cost to include a strong "S" hook to hang this included chain on to bird feeder poles.Consider using a wood that is 'finished' differently for the top piece so rain and sun doesn't break it down.
