Description
2007 release, a two-for featuring a double dose of Mike Bloomfield on one disc. Available for the first time on CD, these are Bloomfield's first two albums for the Takoma label. Analine was released in 1977 and mainly consists of solo acoustic recordings, while the following year's eponymous effort features Bloomfield and band running through mainly Blues standards. This self-titled release is regarded as among the best albums of his later period. Takoma.

solid set from ol' Mike
A really nice set of songs, there are more than a few of these songs on either of the best of Mike Bloomfield released by either Takoma or Fantasy. There is some really cool stuff on here that you shouldn't miss. It is a really solid efforts on here. His voice really suits stuff like Franky and Johnny, not Jimmie Rogers but not bad either. Although it's tragic as hell, Knockin Myself Out is a cool song. I really enjoy the fact that there is plenty of slide to be found on here. Mike Bloomfield was an extraordinarily well versed guitarist and could do it all. It is so very sad that he isn't mentioned as one of the greats by more because he most definitely is and more than anything, the boy oozed soul. One last note as a proponent of porn I gotta say that Peepin' and as Moanin' Blues and Women Lovin' Each Other really warm my dark, soiled soul.

Soulful traditional style blues...
Bloomfield, while he was alive, set himself apart from some of his more famous contemporaries by sticking to more traditional style playing. On this record you get it all.. From electric Chicago style blues to ragtime.. Beautiful. A must have for ANY blues fan.

better with Butterfield Blues Band
I was not at all impressed with the acoustic approach Bloomfield took in making this CD.As a previous reviewer stated, he's just another white guy trying to do Delta Blues. I don'tthink it works and can't recall any tune on it that comes to mind. I'm always willing to giveany disc a second chance but not this one.In fact, I may try to set a worldrecord for actual CD tossing distance (not wind aided of course). Save your money.

Per i fanatici di Bloomfield, c'è tanta roba. Per me, che ho sentito molto della sua musica, i pezzi migliori sono quelli più vecchio stile. Qui e là un po' debole
