Love the product
This brand always has exceptional lavender. I have purchased the blue and this one and neither disappointed. Great for lattes. Soothing strong aroma. Definitely calms and quiets the mind. The fragrance is outstanding and gave some as a thank you gift. My friend couldnโt stop talking about it as she loves making candles and soaps as well as a variety of organic products with it. Worth the purchase. Easy to use in this zip lock bag. Great quality in general.

Reasons Starwest Botanicals Lavender is the best Lavender you can buy.
Starwest Lavender is preserved in a Mylar bag. Mylar bags provide the most effective way to maintain freshness. The best spice stores use Mylar bags to keep spices fresh because they work. The lavender buds of Starwest Lavender are clean from chaff, and they are "food grade" which means you can bake with it or try some fun lavender recipes. They are organic so you do not have to be concerned with toxic sprays which might be on other lavenders. Finally, the first bag I purchased two years ago still had some lavender in it and it smells wonderful. I am making sachets for a charity event. This new bag smells just the same as the first bag. It is fresh, fragrant, and fabulous, and that means it is the best quality you can buy.

Amazing price and good quality!
I love lavender a lot. I often purchase lavender essential oils, diluting them with water and spray them on bed sheets, laundry, homemade deodorant, soaking cloth pads, etc. I sew so I decided to make lavender sachets. I was about to give up looking for a pound of lavender at a good price, but a last search on amazon was golden. The price is amazing for organic lavender, which is very costly at other sources. This is a pound, so the bag is rather big (mine was resealable), you will get a lot. The smell is heavenly but could be a tad bit stronger. I highly recommend purchasing this. I often buy my essential oils or Shea butter from soap or wholesale suppliers and their prices can be a bit higher and shipping can be ridiculous. However, it does contain tiny stems/debris, and some lavender flower buyers get picky about that. Disregarding that and focusing on the price, quality, quantity and everything is very good! Give it a try, you'll love it! I was even thinking about buying another pound, just to hoard it as this may be hard to come by in the future ;) Natural raw lavender products (such as essential oils or flowers) prices go up. Buy it!

Makes the best sachets bar none
I've ordered lavender from a few different suppliers on Amazon, and this is my favourite bar none - I've already worked my way through two bags of it! I make lavender sachets to sell at a charity thrift-shop, and not only is this lavender the best I've found both for long-lasting heavenly scent and price, but I love the fact that it's USDA certified organic, and thus isn't going to have any pesticide or herbicide residue in it. This is especially important if people are going to want to tuck a sachet in their pillow case or the pillow case of an ill or aged loved one, or for use in babies' or children's rooms, or even for use around pets. They're also great to throw in the clothes dryer to give a soft chemical-free scent to your clothes and linens. One pound makes a LOT of little sachets - I also buy bulk organza bags from Amazon which keeps my costs low. But once you start making them, as soon as people smell them they just about walk out the door. I have used a bit for cooking too, once in a lamb roast and once for an ice cream, and that worked out quite well too. If you're looking for bulk lavender flowers, this is the product I'd recommend.

Super fragrant flowers buds.
Very fragrant flower buds from Frech. The flowers is lightly gray / blue, which is okay - as different types of lavenders produce various colors. There are some twigs and leaves, but it can easily pick out. I tried to make lavender tea per package directions, but it was too fragrance for me to drink. Maybe I should use less buds next time. You can keep the tea cold in the fridge and use it as toner for your face. I do the same thing with rose tea cold infused.... Trust me, it's the best homemade toner I've tried. The lavender smell is even stronger than earl gray. After few weeks, the smell will subdue a bit and smell wonderful to my liking (consider that I use double Ziploc freezer bags). It reminds me of the chamomile tea that I got from my trip to German. I will use it for baking instead.

Very fine lavender flowers
wow, I'm very pleased with the amount of lavender flowers, their scent and the fact that the flowers aren't broken up or crushed. I used the lavender and the 3 x 4 muslin bags that are on sale on this site to make sachets which I filled to the brim and still have half a package of lavender remaining. The scent is strong and clean, the flowers are in excellent condition. I wish I knew more uses for this wonderful lavender, but most likely I'll just buy more muslin bags to fill and keep putting the little sachets in drawers. The floral scent is strong enough on its own that I am delighted every time I open a drawer that has this scent wafting out at me. The lavender scent does not linger on clothing but does make things feel fresh and pleasant. Dreaming of visiting a lavender field.

Great Lavender!
I watched the movie It's Complicated and decided I wanted to try lavender ice cream but it is not the easiest thing to find! In Utah there is a commercial lavender field and my sister and I went there to take pics and they actually had it. It was so good but the are about a 1 1/2 hour drive--too long to get to if you have a craving--so I decided I wanted to try to make it at home. I found a recipe and it turned out really good. It has such a strong flavor that you only need to use about 1/2 of what the recipe calls for. I also made some sachets for the linen drawers and they smell great. Next I will be making some lavender room spray. The bag is HUGE and will make a ton of stuff!

A decent pound of bulk lavender
Received package sealed in good condition. The volume of the lavender was a bit over 1/2 gallon. Lavender was fluffy, well-dried, and fragrant. There were, however, noticeable non-flower plant pieces (stems, leaves), with maybe a 20-to-1 ration of flower buds to "other". (Of course, all still edible and mainly a cosmetic problem, but can be bothersome if you are using the lavender sprinkled over salads and such.) Comparing to a previous batch of lavender from a northern California lavender farm, the flowers are less purple and more green, and subjectively the taste is slightly less intense. That could be due to differences in lavender variety, or the flowers were harvested too soon. The label identifies this as organic Lavandula angustifolia from France. That's English Lavender, same as my previous batch from Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms, but no specific cultivar is identified. So far, the lavender has functioned well for fragrance, tea, and cooking. On salad, it was fine, baring the issue of stems. (Reading another review, I do admit that the fragrance may be a tad more medicinal than my previous batch, but that could also be due to the concentration of a pound of lavender in a sealed bag, and may fade to normal once you are actually using it.

Just soo good!
Oh man what can I say! Powerful scent and flavour. Very large bag. I've been using these in baths, teas and oxymels. A little goes a long way, for sure. Highly recommend. I've purchased herbs from Starwest three time and have not been disappointed!

Smells and tastes great! When prepared
Smells and tastes great! When prepared, it's a little darker than the lavender we had (it was colorless). Package is nicely sealed. Came faster than expected. When contacted, the seller provided additional information about the customs. I definetely recommend this item. Will buy it myself again... in a year or so :)
