An amazing monitor with a bad stand at a great price!
I use this monitor for gaming and video editing on a PC and 2018 iMac respectively. First, this monitor is HUGE! Being ultrawide, it’s not as tall as even the 30” monitor it replaced. Make sure you have horizontal room before purchasing! The stand that’s included isn’t good. No height adjustment and no rotation. If you get a VESA mount like I did, know the screw holes are recessed into the back of the monitor fairly deep (especially the bottom two). I ended up needing to buy more screws as the ones that came with my mount wouldn’t reach (it uses metric screws, M4-0.7, and I used 40mm length in my case). If you order a mount with the monitor, do yourself a favor and order the screws at the same time! Finally, the screen itself. The picture quality is amazing! It’s mentioned before how you can’t adjust the brightness with HDR active, which is frustrating at first, but not a major deal. Once you have your brightness set where you want (I use around 65, with a contrast of 55), enable HDR on the monitor, then in Windows/software, and it looks great! Some games (Assassins Creed Odyssey) started out too bright with everything washed out, but if you lower the in-game brightness down to 20%, it looks significantly better! Others (Fuser) look amazing out of the box! After using this for a while, I can’t imagine going back to a normal wide screen for gaming! Ultra wide is much more immersive! Just make sure you have a graphics card capable of running the extra resolution! I had to turn down the graphical settings in several games to achieve a playable frame rate. One more minor niggle is if the frame rate drops too low during a dark scene (like sub-20), there tends to be a slight flicker every few seconds. Not enough for me to really get annoyed, but I could see how it can put someone off. Having the extra screen real estate for video editing is not something I knew I needed until I got this monitor! The resolution of the iMac may be higher, but the extra space is a lot better for timeline adjustments. With multiple DisplayPort inputs, having the side-by-side feature is great as well for multiple computers. Coupled with a program like Synergy to use the same mouse and keyboard across a Mac and PC makes this feature seamless! It has a picture-in-picture option as well, but even at the largest setting, it’s still a bit too small to do much without zooming in. The only option I’d like to see with the side-by-side feature is to have the monitor report back a native resolution of 1720x1440 while this mode is active in order to not automatically cut every other vertical line. Otherwise, it’s an awesome feature to have! All in all, I can’t recommend this monitor enough, especially for the price! I was shopping for a new monitor for months, and this is the only one that checked all my boxes within my price range (curved, ultra wide, HDR, 144Hz, and sub-$500). After using it, I couldn’t be happier!

Great Monitor so far. Great Value for the money.
Additionally, to provide you perspective on quality of output at a glance, the included Pics of my setup are of a Samsung flat UWHD (top) and the Viotek UWHD (bottom). The color and resolution are comparable. The Viotek was several hundred dollars less expensive then the Samsung. I am on my 3rd month with this monitor and have not had a single issue with it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This monitor looks fantastic. Color, Refresh Rate, Resolution, and OSD settings. G-Sync Compatibility is flawless with my NVidia 3060 Ti Card for RTS, FPS, and MPORPG. One item that was a little frustrating is the the extender inset screws that come with the monitor to allow you to use a VESA mount. One of the screw's threads were not cut correctly or the thread pitch was not correct and it could not be used in the hole where it was to be screwed in. The screw would not catch at all. Viotek needs to look at the quality right down to each part they send with their monitors. Overall this is a good looking and very functional out of the box monitor. It is about half the price of other big brand names out there but the quality of the monitor itself superbly competes. In the provided pics I have a Samsung stacked on top of the Viotek.

Great monitor, great service
Bought this monitor back in November. The picture quality is amazing, a monitor of this size, plus ultrawide, plus 144hz, AND it's curved for this price seems like it's too good to be true. But so far I am nothing but impressed. The only bad thing I have to say about it is the quality of the stand, but that's usually the case regardless of the price and it works, it's just a little wobbly. I will say that about 5 months after I bought it, I got a line of dead pixels going across my screen from left to right. This thing has a 3 year warranty on it, though, so I sent it in and a 15 dollar label and a day short of 2 weeks later I received it back in working order. The response time from Viotek support was within an hour each time, and I honestly expected a longer wait period to get it back. So despite the hardware issue I ran into, the service was so solid and quick I decided it wasn't worth docking a point. Take from that what you will, but I consider the RMA experience to be an important part of buying hardware. Of course it's never ideal to have it malfunction in such a way so soon after purchase, but we live in an imperfect world so I figure I can let that slide since the service was so prompt, courteous and painless.

Very good, not quite great
I won't get super granular in this review. If you want that, there are plenty of other reviews and videos out there that do, many of which influenced my buying decision. I'll just hit the highlights. Pros: -The brightness is good, even with HDR on. Play with the settings, get it to your liking. -Picture quality is very good. Again, spend some times in the settings. -I'm getting the full 144Hz refresh rate with a DP 2.0 cable. Games look great, I'm not having any tearing and frame rates are high. -For the price, it's a heck of a value. Cons: -It is not G-Sync compatible for me. When I enable G-Sync in Nvidia control panel I get a lot of screen flicker and tearing. This could be for a lot of reasons. I'm running an Asus ROG Strix 2080 Super with a manual overclock, so it could be that the monitor does not like my OC or that specific card. I haven't done much troubleshooting on it honestly, but when forced to choose between a stable OC that runs cool and gives me 120+ FPS at 1440p and G-Sync enabled I know which one I'm choosing. -HDR is underwhelming. This may not be the monitor's fault. It could be due to my lack of experience with HDR monitors for possibly even Microsoft's fault, but for me, HDR looks mediocre. -I know a lot of people have said it already, but the included stand is trash. It feels unstable and flimsy out of the box. I bought a desk clamp VESA mount with it. Technically adds $35 to the price but, you know. This is almost certainly the best 34" QHD widescreen gaming monitor you're going to find under $600. Do I wish I had spent the extra 300 or 400 bucks on a more well known name brand? Maybe. Do games and videos still look great on it even though it says Viotek on the bezel instead of Samsung or LG? Definitely. At the end of the day, if you have an extra $1,000 laying around for a widescreen gaming monitor you're probably not reading this review anyway.

GNV34DB 2019 revision, has HDCP
Make sure to order the updated version (gnv34db) when choosing so you can view streamed content like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc. Pros: #1) FREESYNC which you must enable in settings so screen will not tear. #2) Colors are pretty good, better than my other VA panel monitor. #3) Resolution is amazing, so much detail (& has sharping settings in menu to make it look even higher) #4) Crosshair or dot menu in red or green, which is small and unobtrusive. #5) Works with Xbox vrr settings. Cons: #1) Keep frames per second greater than 90 or you will notice ghosting. At 90-110 fps its decently smooth, with minimal ghosting as this the correct response time for the panel. #2) Has dark level smearing, when a dark object or dark scene is moved, there will be a dark "trail" where the object or scene once was. It is noticeable only when moving fast paced. Notes: there was a review where someone made a video blaming the monitor for tearing but it was his own fault for not enabling freesync! It is in the menu options, so make sure to take advantage of ALL the options like sharpen (no less than 50 but 75 seems best), also the crosshairs features and overclock to 110hz Opinions: This monitor is best for gaming in non-competitive titles, but it works fine in fast paced shooters. 34" ultrawide 2k is the way to go, fills vision making games more immerse. Great options in the menu, learn to use them. I love this monitor, it punches above its weight at the right price. TL;DR - get model GNV34DB it has HDCP (for Netflix, etc). The menu has freesync, sharpening & small crosshairs options. Xbox VRR works. Colors are decent. >90fps or will ghost. Dark level smearing on fast objects/scenes. I recommend this monitor.

good monitor at a great price
I will preface this review by framing the parameters in which this product operates: price to performance. This is not a halo product, not the best of the very best. But then, it is not competing in that class. Viotek is aiming to provide a solid ultrawide experience at an affordable price, and to that end they have succeeded admirably. The display is sharp and well lit, although it could be a little brighter for HDR reasons, since it apparently supports HDR 10(?) and yet does not advertise anything related to HDR. I'm not educated enough on that particular feature so I will consider it a welcome bonus and leave it at that. For contrast it has the usual benefits of a VA panel and colors look gorgeous, especially in a low light environment. Colors are lush and beautiful, not as color accurate as IPS so don't get this monitor if you are doing video editing, Photoshop, etc. as a professional. For speed, it operates well up to 144hz, at medium overdrive settings I dont notice any issues. Beware of high, ghosting is bad and not worth any speed increases. For design, it is simple and usable. Nothing fancy but then that means the compromise was made there so you could get a better display. Worth it. The menu is clumsy but usable. Oh well. Hardware needs: This is a 1440p ultrawide, you are pushing considerably more pixels than standard 1440p, a little bit less than midway between that and 4k. You will want a solid gpu if you want to game at high settings and above. Right now from AMD that means realistically a 5700xt, maybe 5700. Or a VII if you happen to have that already. Even then you are about on the edge there, and I say that as a happy owner of a 5700xt. RDNA2 I assume will handle this resolution like a champ, but that isn't out yet. For Nvidia 2070 Super as the minimum and up from there. 3080 should pound those frames if you can find one, I assume 3070 will as well if the rumored performance is accurate. For any gpu operating with less than 8gb of vram you may have issues gaming at higher settings, so don't pair this monitor with something less than upper mid-range as a long term solution. Final thoughts: at base price this is a good experience, a solid compromise if you need to spend money elsewhere, like on gpu. This monitor is fantastic for gaming, and good enough for light productivity. Not recommended if your primary use is color sensitive work, recommended otherwise.

(UPDATED) GNV34DBE Died after 5 weeks. Warranty Experience below - Keep box and original materials.
Original review is below. Quick update. After 1.5 years, the replacement monitor I was sent it still going strong and I still rate 5 stars for the value for the money and customer support I received when I had and issue. -------------------------------- Original Review from Apr 2021 -------------------------------- Short story of my experience with monitor... This monitor died after 5 weeks (4 days past amazon warranty period). If you decide to buy this monitor, buy the extra warranty amazon asks you to buy just to be safe... or know that you are taking a QA risk as I did. After the monitor died, I followed Viotek RMA instructions exactly as written. Support states an RMA number would be assigned usually within 24 hours. That was not the case. No meaningful response of yet. **WARRANTY UPDATE 1** RMA instructions were received within 3 business days (72 hours). On the website Viotek states the consumer is responsible for the shipping costs to them and they would cover return expense. This was not the case for me as they DID cover the $20 shipping cost as well. It has been shipped out via UPS. They have not received it as of yet. Will post the next update once movement has occurred. **WARRANTY UPDATE 2** Received email confirmation within 5 days of shipping that the unit has been received. It is being processed and the message states the time for processing the unit is approximately 5-20 business days depending on the type of return (repair, refund, exchange). **WARRANTY UPDATE 3** No further emails, but UPS showed up and dropped off the monitor 8 days after the confirmation email was received. It was 20 total days for the monitor to die, submit the RMA claim, receive the initial email from bcolab, ship the monitor out, and then receive the repaired unit. Previously there were a few hotspots on the monitor, those are no longer visible so I'm not sure if there was an issue with the power supply going out and causing the issue, but either way, this unit looks amazing. I did need to do some tweaking to get this really performing nicely but if you give yourself 15 minutes of playing with settings you should be pretty pleased with the results. The monitor dying was unfortunate, but I feel the company handled the warranty in a timely manner and this monitors performance at this price point is very good. I changed the 1 star rating (due to dead monitor) back to a 5 star rating. Again, you should really consider purchasing the extended amazon warranty just to save yourself a potential hassle, if i had the option to do it upon receipt of the repaired unit, I would. For the price it would still be a good deal.

Great gaming monitor until you need to fix it.
I had researched monitors for several months and I found this monitor. It checked all the boxes I needed to make the purchase. After the setup, it succeeded beyond my expectations. A few months later, I rearranged my setup. When I turned on the monitor the screen had a blacked out strip top to bottom of the screen. (refer to picture) I do not have a clue what may have caused it. I figured the company should be able to fix it since it was still under the warranty period. I called the support number and no luck. I emailed no response. I messaged them on their twitter and this is their response. Viotek USA: Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us and I apologize for the delay. Unfortunately, due to our units not being assembled in our warehouse, we do not have the replacement parts needed for cracked screen/panel repairs. However, since this item is within the warranty period, we would be happy to offer a replacement unit at a slightly discounted price. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. Me: What would the discounted price be?$250??? Viotek USA: It would be a $50 discount. Please let us know how you would like to proceed? Thank you (ended with a smiley face) I was very disappointed in this company's service which seemed so promising with their 3-Year Limited Warranty and best-in-market Pixel Perfect Promise. It felt like I was sold a lemon and it was all my fault. Viotek's twitter response of offering $50 less for the same monitor instead of fixing my monitor felt like a scam. I can not afford to buy another monitor even at a slap in the face $50 discount. It took me months to save up for a monitor. (sad/disappointed face)
