Fantastic shoe!!!
I have never had a pair of Clarks prior to buying these. As I've gotten older I've developed some foot problems and my feet have become wider and longer which makes it difficult to find the correct fit. I'm having to buy 14's now but most of them aren't wide enough and often time they are a little long. 13's now are typically too short and I now need a wide which limits selection. I read about these shoes and they were a great price so I bought them. I bought a 13 wide and they fit wonderfully. They are a little longer than normal 13's by about a half size and plenty wide. The amazing aspect of this shoe is the cushioning. I bought and tried several pairs including 2 pairs of Ecco's and none matched the Clarks in cushioning and comfort. I think I'm also noticing less foot pain but I need to wear them longer to be sure. They are a little darker than the picture but they are so well made. I'm a Clarks guy for life now!

They are great shoes. I have been wearing them for 2 ...
They are great shoes. I have been wearing them for 2 weeks now and so far, I like them very much and here is why:1) They are very comfortable. I wear them almost everyday and I am very satisfied.2) The insole is very well padded. It has extra support for the heel and the toe mounds. Look at the pictures.3) I know it's kind of soon to tell but they have hold their shapes very well so far.4) Look great. They are actually very nice if you are looking for a pair of shoes that you can wear for both work and casual events.BE CARE FULL WITH THE SIZE: They run a little too large. I think it's a problem with all the clarks shoes. I suggest getting 1 or 0.5 size smaller than what you normally wear.

Nice casual everyday shoe
These Portland shoes by Clark's replaced a pair of Clark's Tracker model that appears to no longer be made. The actual shoes look exactly as shown, including the nice matte leather finish, which I like. I wear these almost every day and I like the balance of comfort, support, and flexibility. On that last point, after a few weeks of use, there is just a hint of pressure across the top of my toes, midway between the bottom lace and the tip of the shoe, when bending down in a full squat position. I do that frequently while finishing the interior of my house. I suspect this will be minimized with more wear. Without this pressure, it would have been five stars right out of the box. Many other people may not experience this effect.I very much like the simple, effective, and widely-spaced tread pattern that does not pick up and bring small stones inside the house (we have lots of natural sand/pebbles/rocks in our drive and walkway outside. Another small pleasure is that the laces have some kind of compressible core that keeps them tied nicely, all day long. A very minor factor until you encounter shoes that refuse to stay tied!Overall, a great shoe and good value, assuming they are durable like the last Clark's.

Clarks meets and exceeds our expectations for comfortable, supportive shoes
I purchased these Clarks shoes for my husband prior to an extended trip across the US and Europe. Clarks did not let me down! I ordered his usual size and fit was exactly correct. NO rubs, blisters or places that gouge, even after 18 hour days on cobblestones. The leather is soft but durable and the brown is a rich color that does not compete with any clothes. They were worn every single day on the trip, until sadly, he lost them when left in a in a rental car!Once again, Clarks meets and exceeds our expectations for comfortable, supportive shoes. They were delivered promptly, in perfect condition. They look good, too! I will certainly order again!

Good shoe but not the quality to which I became accustomed
Need a B width, but shoe stores don't carry much, if anything, in that width. After wasting a whole day going to shoe stores and going home empty handed, I gave up on shoe stores. Haven't been in one in years. Found out about E. T. Wright and thought my shoe troubles were over, and they were until E. T. Wright went out of business a few years ago. I could get leather shoes lined with leather, without synthetic materials except for the soles. These Clarks fit pretty good, but have some synthetic material in them. The ankle collar feels like it has foam rubber in it, and I don't expect it to last a real long time. Seems like moisture builds up more in synthetic lined shoes. They are fairly comfortable to walk in and work in, but I still find myself putting my old ETW shoes back on, even though they are so worn they are literally falling off my feet (after many years of use). This Clarks Portland is probably one of the best shoes on the market today, unless you can afford custom shoes. But still not as well made as a shoe should be. Clarks brags about being in business in England since 1835 or some such date. So why are their shoes made in China?

Nice-Looking, Well-Fitting, & Comfortable Shoes
I bought these for my husband for nice casual shoes. He just tried them out during a trip to Boston, so he hasn't worn them for long; therefore, I cannot attest to the durability or endurance of the shoe. What we do know… we both think they are nice looking shoes. He said they fit well; he wears a size 9 & these are a size 9M (they do also carry wide sizes if someone needs that, & also sometimes it just depends on the shoe/shoe style, even within the same brand, as the cuts can vary). As for comfort, the most important quality, he really put these to the test with quite a bit of walking in these and said they were comfortable, not so much for all-day type comfort (but keep in mind this is literally right out of the box, with no "breaking in" & still, they were pretty comfortable for quite a while. So, all-in-all, these are really nice casual shoes, nice-looking, fit well, are comfortable, and my husband does recommend these.
