Great for small quantity juicing
This is perfect for my needs: the occasional lemon, lime and orange juicing for a recipe. Only the juice of one lemon or lime fits. Slow pouring filters out most of the seeds. I’ve had two plastic ones break on me, so I was looking for something more durable. I really like the silicon bead on bottom as well.

Nearly perfect
This is a combination review of two citrus juicers, the Japanese Plastic Grapefruit Lemon Lime Squeezer #1410 (ASIN: B004K6TIM6) and the Kai DH3017ENG Select 100 Grapefruit/Orange Squeezer (ASIN: B0009WCILS). I've owned the Japanese Plastic Squeezer for three months and the Kai for two months. I've used one or both daily, and also have used a traditional glass juicer for comparison. The Kai and Japanese Plastic are both excellent, though after using both for several months, the Kai serves my needs better. I juice primarily navel oranges, for which the Kai is definitely superior. However when I've used Valencia oranges, the Japanese Plastic Squeezer worked better. I haven't yet tried lemons or grapefruits, but based on my experience so far, if you juice navel oranges or grapefruits, the Kai is the better choice for you, and if you juice smaller fruits, the Japanese Plastic is the better choice.I've given the Kai five stars because it's nearly perfect at what it does. My only quibble is that it doesn't hold a lot of juice, but for a single person like myself it's not a problem.I've given the Japanese Plastic only four stars. This is primarily because of the extra part it has for juicing larger fruits such as grapefruits. There are several problems with it, apart from the minor nuisance of having an extra part to clean. The problems are 1) the top is smooth, which both makes it hard to start juicing a large fruit and make it harder as you're finishing to get at the top part of the fruit and 2) it's a little too sharp and reams out too much of the parts of the orange I don't want in my juice. It is however overall an excellent juicer, especially for the price I paid (about $5.20).Before buying these, I had planned on buying a power juicer, but after reading reviews I realized that not only are they more expensive, but they tend to break and to be a nuisance to clean. My previous experience with manual juicers was only with the traditional glass juicer, which I knew I did not want to use. The Kai at about $26 seemed outrageously expensive for something that I feared might not be any better than the old glass juicers, so I ordered the Japanese Plastic first because it's so cheap. It was so much better than the glass juicer that I went ahead and ordered the Kai.I've tried juicing navel oranges with both a traditional glass and with the Kai and the Japanese Plastic. I found two problems with the glass juicer: 1) The ridges weren't high and sharp enough to really do the job, and 2) there wasn't enough depth to juice a large orange. The glass juicer might be fine for lemons or limes, bit definitely not a navel orange. My recommendation: if you juice lemons, limes, or small oranges, buy the Japanese Plastic. It's an incredible bargain for under $6. If you juice larger fruits, get the Kai. It's a ceramic gem that should last you a lifetime (if you don't drop and break it). If you do both type of fruit, buy both. I did and I'm glad I did.

Unique and Perfect
I was born and raised in Florida. I have been juicing my whole life. This little juicer is the best manual juicer that I know of. It is very difficult to find a hand juicer like this that has a larger reamer for grapefruits. On top of that, the reamer fins have a good edge to them which increases the effectiveness of the juicing process while decreasing required effort. Either one of these critical qualities are difficult to find in a manual grapefruit hand juicer, and this one has them both in spades! This juicer is beautiful as well, it cleans up easily with a quick rinse, and the size is perfect for those with limited storage space. Those who took off stars for the size of the juice receptacle, it's really no problem. Just pour the juiced contents into your glass after every half grapefruit is juiced, no big deal. There is no strainer either, but that too, is no big deal, because the pulp that finds it's way into the receptacle is the soft juicy tasty meat of the grapefruit. Any tough pulp or skin either will not separate from the grapefruit, or it will conveniently bunch up in the grooves of the juicer, which is easily rinsed off when cleaning. And if you don't want any pulp, just put a little strainer over your glass before you pour. The cute little handle has a depression for one's thumb, and there is also a high quality silicone ring on the bottom of this juicer to keep it from sliding around on a counter top. They thought of everything with this juicer. If you are just looking to quickly juice a few grapefruit in the morning for yourself and/or your loved ones, for a nice cold glass of pure bliss there is no other simpler, or effective juicer than this one. And the price is amazing to boot. Tip: Keep your grapefruit in the fridge and your morning glass of juice will already be pre-chilled. :)

Easier than I thought
I've never had a juicer but ended up with a whole bag of grapefruit that were a little on the soft side, so I wanted to juice them. I looked at a dozen or so juicers on Amazon and like this one because:1. It is ceramic (I don't like plastic on principle)2. It is dishwasher safe3. It is large enough for grapefruit, but could do oranges too. (probably not lemons though)4. It has very crisp sharp fins on it that scrape the inside of the rind dry as a bone!5. You can pour off either side of the bowl, both sides have a spout.6. It has a silicone ring embedded in the bottom. So it will essentially never slip on the counter top while you're pressing and turning.7. It doesn't have a motor that could break down and render your purchase useless.Cons:1. I'm reaching here-but it might break if you dropped it.2. It doesn't have any sort of straining device to sort out the seeds. (I just poured it through my own strainer into a jar)3. You can only juice 1/2 of a grapefruit at a time before emptying it. (barely a whole SMALL grapefruit, but definitely not a large)4. $$$ (you could buy a cheap electric juicer for almost the same price)The dish holds almost 3/4C of juice before running over. The silicone non slip bottom and the sharp fins really do it for me. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Large enough work juice grapefruits. Elegant and efficent.
The item is elegant and functional. It is perfect for squeezing juice out of grapefruits and large oranges. I was able to extract pretty much all juice out of these citrus fruits. Most other squeezers that I own or owned, manual and electric, would work fine with oranges but would never squeeze all of the juice from grapefruits. So as far as I can tell, Kai DH3017ENG is incredibly efficient. It is probably a bit too large for small oranges or lemons. For those the company makes a smaller version which you can find by using the name “Kai DH3018ENG Select 100 Lemon/Lime Squeezer (White)”.The squeezer is ceramic. It has a very nice feel to it. It is easy to handle and wash.A clear rubbery ring is attached to its bottom for protection. This way when you set it on a granite counter you do not worry that the squeezer will crack or that it will scratch the glass if you set it on a glass cook-top. It also prevents slippage during squeezing if you are using it on a polished surface like marble or quartz.

Super Saftpresse
