Update as of 10/5/2022:-----------------------------The company was on holiday for the ~10 day period I was looking for support and they reached out to me to resolve my issues (they are sending me a new replacement). I have updated my rating as the company does stand behind their product.I have left my previous comments so this thread makes sense to anyone reading it.Update as 10/02/2022:---------------------------Well, the drive has been WONKY the last month or so and has finally failed. I reached out to the company for warranty and they weren't helpful. I then reached out to Amazon for help in getting in touch with them - Amazon told me it was beyond the warranty period even though Rokhy states 5 years.SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A PRODUCT FROM A REPUTABLE BRAND LIKE SAMSUNG / SANDISK / ETC.Update as 08/01/2020:---------------------------While it hasn't fallen apart, it heats up very quickly on large file copies and slows down to USB 2 speeds.I also purchased the Sabrent Rocket Nano 2TB USB 3.2 10Gb/s External Aluminum SSD (Silver) (SB-2TB-NANO) and while NOT a thumbdrive, it is still very portable and it is MUCH FASTER! If I had kept the packaging, I would return the thumbdrive.Original Review Below:I bought the ROKHY 1TB Extreme to replace a cheaply made Samsung like product that fell apart. I needed a drive that easily supports both Type-A and Type-C interfaces.I am a software architect and I use 4 different laptops. This drive is used for portable apps.Compared to Kingston Traveler drives, it feels CHEAP.The issues that concern me over long term use are:1) The USB interface ports don't completely store within the unit when not in use (this could cause the port to be damaged / bend).2) The locking method to select the desired interface (a sliding button that locks when pushed to far left/right) doesn't actually lock into place - when inserting the drive, one needs to HOLD the button firmly so the port doesn't slide out before inserting into the USB port on the computer.

works great and is a fairly fast usb. You can get usb's that read almost twice as fast, but it's honestly unnecessary unless you are transferring really big files. like 10gb or more. if you don't need the functionality of having usb A and usb C on the same device DO NOT GET THIS YOU ARE WASTING MONEY.

I bought the 1 Tb solid state flash drive. Amazing file transfer speeds on my Windows 10 quad core i7 Dell computer. Files transfer in one-tenth the time or better (up to 550 Mb/s) when compared to other expensive larger capacity (512 to 1Tb) but older USB Flash drives. I saw at least a 300-350 Mg transfer using the Type C connection. It is a solidly built solid state drive with a zinc alloy metal case. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered a second drive after the first one arrived. My only regret is that while it comes in a cute little fake leather (vinyl) case with a key ring attachment, I wish it had a key ring or carrying strap attached directly to the drive. I say this because I work at a university and am constantly leaving flash drives behind, still plugged in, when using different institutional classroom computers. My preference is to attach a lanyard or keychain tag (like the wonderful “Remove Before Flight” tags available elsewhere at Amazon) to the drive so that I will visibly see and then unplug the flash drive when I am ready to leave. The key chain holder doesn’t help much at these times as the drive has to be removed from the storage pouch when in use.
