As a big Vision fan - I'm always on the lookout for the new books that feature him in a prominent role. Well, this one is where he is centrefold, so don't pass up.

Marvel has always had strong characters and great story arcs.

The sad tale of how Wanda lost everything that was important to her. West Coast Avengers disassembled. The team falls apart and some has stolen Vision. By the time they find him, he's been turn apart. When they go back home. They find another shocker. The twins are gone. Fans of WandaVision this is where it all began.

My brother is a big fan of the classic marvel comics. This is one of his faveries stories.

excellent movie and fast delivery

I don't really enjoy the Englehart/Milgrom issues. The stories are cruddy and the art is subpar. But the rest of the collection is the Byrne stuff and I really enjoyed both the writing and art.Byrne's run gets a lot of flack for what he did to the Vision and the Scarlet Witch but that was my favorite period during the title.

Generally good but it ends on a cliffhanger and there's no guarantee that the next volume will include the remaining annuals to finish it off that they did not just include them in this volume is very confusing

Ughhh. I bought this as a gift and it wasn’t until I began wrapping it that I noticed a gigantic crease on the back cover. Such a bummer 😞. I scanned the book and everything else seemed fine.

Os primeiros três volumes da espetacular Epic Collection para os West Coast Avengers trouxeram histórias corretas mas nada empolgantes de nomes fortes nos anos 70 e início dos 80 como Roger Stern, David Michelinie e Steve Englehart, quase sempre ilustradas pelos desenhos meio desajeitados e sem nenhum brilho de artistas do segundo escalão, como Al Milgrom.Nessa quarta edição, John Byrne "chega chegando", com histórias muito mais relevantes e, principalmente, com seus desenhos elegantes e precisos, elevando o patamar da revista, mexendo profundamente no line-up do time, trazendo novas personagens e resgatando outras. Byrne eleva o nível da narrativa e da arte, transformando água em vinho. O time fica com mais "cara de Avengers" do que nunca.Só para termos uma ideia, numa das primeiras histórias do volume, ainda pela dupla Englehart (autor de que gosto muito) e Milgrom, os "Wackos" enfrentam quase uma dúzia de vilões de quinta categoria, reunidos num bando chamado "Night Shift" (que por sinal, nunca mais apareceu no Universo Marvel, tal sua "importância") numa história corrida e desengonçada, onde perto de vinte personagens se espremiam em pouco mais de 20 páginas - não podia dar coisa boa, mesmo. Na sequência, Byrne surge, passa um pano na sujeira e imediatamente inicia uma saga que vai culminar com a resolução do "problema" dos filhos da Wanda e do Visão - iniciando, e isso é importante, o processo de desequilíbrio emocional da Feiticeira Escarlate, que anos depois vai causar a quase eliminação da raça mutante na Terra (lembram do "No More Mutants"?) e até a dissolução definitiva dos Vingadores (na saga "Avengers Disassembled"), antecipando os conceitos utilizados ainda hoje, como, por exemplo, na série com o casal para o serviço de streaming que vem por aí. Além disso, Byrne, ousado, reconta a seu modo a origem do Visão e deixa claro que - para ele - o Tocha Humana original e o andróide são personas totalmente diversas.Há alguns pontos baixos na edição, como a inclusão dos anuais de 1987 e 88 que, apesar de importantes para a cronologia, são histórias divididas em dezenas de partes, espalhadas pelos anuais daqueles anos (tática utilizada pela Marvel, na época) que frustram um pouco pela inevitável inconclusão, mas que ainda podem ser curtidas por terem sido ao menos parcialmente escritas e ilustradas por Byrne.Ele ainda continuaria por alguns meses no título... mas isso só veremos no próximo volume da coleção.

Volume 4 of the West Coast Epics (they're doing these ones in order, so volumes 1-3 are already available) is a tie-in release of sorts to the megahit show WandaVision; a lot of the developments from it stem from the stories contained here. But more on that later - the volume beginss with the wrapping up of Steve Englehart and Al Milgrom's run, largely concerned with the split between Hawkeye and Mockingbird, the possession of Moon Knight by his god Khonshu, and the reappearance of ex-Avenger Mantis.These issues are merely a clearing of the decks, though, making the title ready for the arrival of writer-artist John Byrne. In typical Byrne fashion, he immediately sets to sweeping changes to the comic and the team, most of them revolving around the Scarlet Witch. It's a non-stop conga line of trauma for Wanda, with the kidnapping of her husband the Vision, her own abduction, and dramatic revelations about her children all conspiring to push her to the limit.There's also a leadership shakeup, a new member and the return of an old one, and the first appearance of the bizarre Great Lakes Avengers to keep things ticking along. Byrne's changes were perhaps TOO dramatic, with a couple of characters having their arcs changed forever (and not necessarily in a good way), but his skill can't be denied - the art is great and with a whole bunch of B-plots bolstering the main story, the title feels the most exciting it's ever been.Extras include a Marvel Age cover and interview, a Year in Review recap, a house ad, some Handbook illustrations, two pages of original Byrne art and the cover from an earlier trade collection. Whether you're a long-term Wacko fan or have been intrigued enough to check it out by the show, these stories are both iconic and influential.
