Works
Small otoscope works fine and comes in a nice case. Bought it to check my kid’s ears. It’s not as good as the otoscopes in clinic but it gets the job done and is much cheaper.

Best for the money.
I’ve tried primac, which looks identical to cynamed but cheaper. Guess what? Looks can be deceiving. The cynamed is 3x magnification and clear viewing any ear canal to the TM without my reading glasses. The similar otoscopes from the other manufacturers are not 3x magnification. I wasted my money on 3 primac and I’m having to order a couple more cynamed to replace them. You won’t be satisfied with any other look a like because though they look and function almost identically, the magnification is true on cynamed.Update: I don’t know what the problem is, but I continue to go through LED bulbs until I have none left. I’m going to try to reach out to the company if I can ever figure out where their contact information is. I still like the otoscope and will continue to use it as long as I can figure out what causes the LEDs to continually Blow.

Jury’s still out
I ordered it expecting it to be cheaply made. It’s 20 bucks. When it came I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it seemed. I have bad allergies and sometimes ear infections. I hate going to the doctor when I have an earache just so he can look at it and say, “it’s infected” or “theres fluid” So I was excited at being able to quickly tell. My husband and I used it for all of about ten mins before it literally fell apart in my hand. Just fell apart. Couldn’t be put back together. So I reported the issue and quickly got a replacement. Seems to work well so far. Will update review if breaks again.

Easy to use and very clear
The media could not be loaded. I’ve tried a couple different products like this to watch my daughter’s ears. She has a history of ear surgeries including developing scar tissue that nearly damaged her eardrum. I’m a healthcare professional so familiar with looking in ears. This particular product is very bright, easy to turn on and very clear. I’ve used previously the tool that connects to an app and it was very hard to use, in addition to being cloudy viewed. I’m very pleased with this product. It comes with several otoscope speculums as well as 2 replacement bulbs. Changing the 2 triple A batteries is a easy too, just need to unscrew the handle. Definitely would buy it again and highly recommend it

DANGEROUS - Defective, Fire Hazard
YOU NEED TO RECALL THIS ITEM. THIS ITEM IS DANGEROUS, A FIRE HAZARD, AND HURTING PEOPLE. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY REVIEW OF THIS KIND.I am a medical doctor and bought this for in-home use to check my kid’s ears. I used it twice and then it stopped working. I noticed the handle was getting warm so I took the batteries out. Today I went to try to use it again - had the batteries in there for 1 minute when the handle got so hot it burned my hand. Not like “ouch, that’s hot” kind of burn. I have a blister on my thumb.Even if there are only a few items out there that are defective like this, continuing to sell it without addressing the issue is immoral, dangerous, and terrible business practice.I wholeheartedly do not recommend this product. Even when it worked, it wasn’t great. I use otoscopes for a living and couldn’t see much of anything with this one.

Practical
This product is of good quality. Easy to assemble and maintain. It is lightweight and sturdy. Love the carrying bag. Got it fast and well packed.

Just okay
I have a special needs kiddo, so I'm admittedly picky when it comes to medical items. The materials are cheap. The light could be brighter. Probably ok for your 1st scope. But I wouldn't expect it to last long.

A great tool to have
The media could not be loaded. I got this mini otoscope for my sister's to use. They between the two of them there are 8 kids. It can be a lot of doctors visits for ears especially in the summer. Our family has always has issues with swimmer's ear which can easily turn into an ear infection if left unchecked. This time of year we are always in the water whether it be the pool or lake. We found it to be a great tool to have on hand recently. We were out at the lake and a friend's kid started complaining about their ear hurting. So we pulled out the mini otoscope to see what was happening. Luckily, we did not find any infection , but this poor kid had a piece of debris lodged in his ear. A small piece of plastic from his goggles somehow ended up caught in his ear!! Thanks to our otoscope we were able to see & dislodge it easily.
