This is a set of two boxes, for a total of 20 produce bags. PeakFresh produce bags remove ethylene gas to prolong the life and freshness of produce, more than doubling the life expectancy of fruits and vegetables. Most fruit and vegetables release ethylene gas after harvest. Exposure to this gas accelerates aging in fruit and vegetables (the expression one bad apple spoils the barrel comes from this process). Unlike ordinary plastic bags, PeakFresh produce bags have a natural mineral embedded in them to absorb ethylene, minimize moisture formation, and assist in maintaining Vitamin C levels. To use the produce bag, pre-cool warm fruit and vegetables in refrigerator before storing in bag. Use a separate bag for each type of produce. Produce to be stored should be fresh, dry, and undamaged. For produce being stored at room temperature, no pre-refrigeration is needed; simply put the produce straight into the bag. Expel air from the bag and close using the enclosed ties. Bags should be washed and dried thoroughly before re-use and can be re-used for up to two months. Keep bags away from fire and children. Review: The best bags for keeping produce fresh!! - I've purchased a few different brands and types of similar products to help keep produce fresh longer, but these bags have definitely worked far better than any of the other similar type products I've tried. They far outperformed the other bags, and the little sachets you stick inside an apple or vented container. I was very impressed by how long one of these bags is able to keep produce fresh and also how long one of these bags is able to be used. It says on the box you can use each bag for two months, but I ended up using some of them much longer and they were still useful. I think they're definitely the best value for the money, too. I was buying some bags that were much cheaper, but had questioned if they were actually doing anything and after using these bags, it was clear that they were not doing anything. These bags aren't too expensive and work very well. The fact that you can wash the bags and re use them makes them even more economical. Review: New Addition to my Kitchen - These bags worked better than I thought. For the price, it's really a great deal. You receive 2 sets of bags. These bags are great for extending life of your produce. My lettuce was kept well over a week. I wash lettuce, let sit so it can drain. I usually kind of wrap in paper towel so excess water can be absorbed. If you have trouble with keeping your produce fresh you need to try these. The bags are budget friendly compared to others on market and do the same great job. I now keep these accessible in my kitchen at all times.

A great investment for a low cost!
These bags are phenomenal! As a member of a CSA I get more fresh produce once a week than I can possibly use before it starts going bad. Things like lettuce and herbs were only lasting 1-2 days. With these bags I get 1-2 weeks out of most all of my items! These are a great deal so you aren’t tossing rotten produce and the bags are only about $.60 each and reusable. Wonderful product!

Great
Saved my produce. I am a member of a CSA and receive a lot of greens on a weekly basis. These bags although too small for some of the larger items, keep everything fresh for at least a week. I do wish that they had some larger ones..

Fine, albeit too pricey.
These work alright to keep produce fresher than not using a bag, but at a price tag that’s higher than I’d like. Sadly, the well meaning, but short-sighted, legislators of California have banned stores from offering single-use, plastic produce bags. I completely understand the good intentions. However, anyone who has used the compostable version which stores currently offer can tell you that compostable bags are not yet ready for market - some produce (broccoli, for example) turns foul within a day or two. So, I’m trying out various alternative bags which I can bring with me to the grocery store to extend the life of the produce I buy. These bags work fine, but at around $.50 a piece, the price adds up. I’m not fond of trying to wash & re-use these bags (awkward sizing & crunchiness). Plus, I’m not sure if they work any better (or worse) that the free bags that stores in CA used to offer. And so, I’ll keep searching, until CA realizes that food waste amounts to a greater overall cost than the amount of landfill space produce bags make up, … or better yet, until they can develop a compostable bag that doesn’t add to food waste.
