I've had the pleasure of using the Irwin wire strippers, and I must say, they are nothing short of fantastic. One of the most remarkable aspects of these strippers is the incredible speed at which they can effortlessly strip wires. It's almost like a breeze, especially when working with thicker gauge wires. I found that when dealing with robust wires like 12/2 Romex, the Irwin wire strippers excel, making the job quick and hassle-free. The precision and efficiency with which they handle these larger wires are truly impressive.While these wire strippers shine on thicker gauge wires, they can still manage smaller gauge wires, like 22 gauge or smaller, although it may require a bit more finesse. Although not their primary strength, it's commendable that they can handle the smaller wires as well. After using the Irwin wire strippers, it's hard to imagine going back to traditional wire strippers. Their speed and ease of use set a new standard, making wire-stripping tasks more convenient and efficient, and they've become an invaluable tool in my toolkit. Whether you're a professional electrician or a DIY enthusiast, these wire strippers are an excellent addition to your collection and will undoubtedly save you time and effort on your wiring projects.

I'm an old school engineer and when I tech I've always used gauged wire strippers, the kind that have machined and sharpened half-round cutters that come together. I've always had to position the wire just so in its correct gauge slot. While effective... what a hassle!These Irwin self-adjusting are some much easier and way more faster to use than my old way! Before I bought these I checked around on Amazon and saw many strippers in this style that were priced from $10 to $20, but I figured that since I'm try something new to get a trusted "name brand."When I bought these they were $30, i see now they're $20... absolutely well worth the money!In usage these strippers just grip the insulation and sort of tear or separate it at specific point. The wire never gets touched so no broken strands. They also work fairly well on cable housings (multi conductor outer jacket), if the diameter is under a quarter inch.The negatives I have is that they are large and clunky and stripped away insulation bits usually need to be cleared away before doing the next wire. Getting insulation bits out is done by flipping them over and sometimes giving them a tap on bench (or whatever). It's easy to do. Since they're so much faster to use than the old way I don't mind the clunkyness.

Nice strippers and good value

These work well for vinyl, making it easy to measure and strip wire quickly. I had also picked up some silicone insulated wires for another wiring project, 14 gauge and 20 gauge. This thing seemed to have trouble stripping either of them. The silicone seemed like it was too slick for the clamp to grab, so I ended up going back to my regular strippers to finish up.

I'm getting ready to install a new ECU in my track car, and plan on using Deutsche connectors instead of just crimping wire together (although this would be great in that scenario too). Wanted an easy way to quickly and accurately(ish) strip wires to then crimp on DT connectors. This was recommended by a friend, and it was a great recommendation. Made quick work of a six wire accessory connector, and should make quick work of the future wiring I'll need to do.

First things first I want to double clarify the photos I posted were after 10 years of use. I don't want people to get the wrong idea. The pair in the photos were STILL working just with a bit of finesse.I am an instrumentation technician so these got plenty of use. I work on the maintenance side of things, not the installation. So perhaps not as much use as installers but they did get used and abused. I would even use these on wire bundles to remove the sheathing without damaging the wire insulation. I'm talking stuff they probably weren't designed for that I had to JAM into the auto stripping part.I do a lot of climbing stairs and ladders so I like to keep a light weight minimalist bag I can sling over my shoulder, so I appreciate the crimps being included.They are pretty bulky so they can be a pain if you don't have a lot of wire to work with or if it's in a tight place. The cutters also aren't the best but still work in a pinch.You can't beat the price for how much I've done with these which is why I'm retiring this pair and getting another after 10 years.

Would highly recommend, if you do electrical work you need a pair of these.

i was using the wire stripper that you had to pull to strip. this is SO EASY to use, i appreciated the technology step up so much. you just set up the width of the wire with the yellow part, and stick the wire and clamp together, and its DONE! amazing, and reliable so far. i know ive been living under a rock about this, but i really appreciate this product. it seems durable so far.

Un poco complicada en calibres pequeños, pero funciona muy bien, facilita mucho el trabajo.

Questo spellafili automatico è portentoso, paragonabile ad altri di marche più famose (e costose). Lavora con fili praticamente di qualsiasi diametro, si aziona con sforzo molto contenuto, la spelatura è veloce e precisa. Degne di nota le possibilità di regolare facilmente la pressione delle ganasce e la lunghezza della spelatura. Unica cosa a cui fare attenzione è che talvolta il tratto esterno del cavo spelato rimane nel recesso della ganascia di destra (il tagliente), e ciò può disturbare la spelatura successiva poiché la ganascia di sinistra (la morsa serrafilo) a volte fa meno presa. Comunque un ottimo acquisto di cui sono contento e che uso molto senza alcun problema. Consigliatissimo!

Facile a utilisé aussi bien pour les travaux électriques que électronique.
