Well balanced, tastes great even for pour over coffee!
I usually drink Dark roast coffee, it is part of my daily morning routine to pour myself a thermos of coffee to get through the day, so I was happy to try this package of Mondo Coffee beans.[+] Even though this is an espresso blend, it definitely tastes great when pourred over! I was wondering if it would lack flavor or come out weaker due to the absence of pressure, but not at all. I then read various sources online that confirmed this is generally a misconception and that espresso beans can definitely be used for regular coffee. Now I know![+] These are whole beans, so make sure you have a coffee grinder available! I ground those fresh just before pouring.[+] These beans have a balanced taste (as advertised) and just enough acidity to give you that zingy feeling on the side of the tongue, without tasting harsh or hiding the actual coffee flavors. I'm always disappointed when a coffee tastes dull without any kind of acidity, but to be clear this isn't very acidic either, in my opinion this coffee strikes a nice balance of acidity and flavors, with nutty and subtle dark chocolate aftertones. I didn't taste any spicy notes, and appreciated that there wasn't any artificial /over pronounced flavor like you can get in some coffees (e.g. I don't want my coffee to taste like hazelnut syrup, or cinnamon bun) - none of that here. This roast is advertised as Medium, and I agree, but I would describe it as medium trending to dark rather than medium trending to light (that may not be scientific, but best way I can describe it). Since I'm a dark roast lover, I was not disappointed, and yet this coffee would probably be enjoyed by most people who prefer medium roasts. If you like your coffee on the lighter and mild side, this may be too rich for you.[+] This pack is 2.2lbs (1kg), which is A LARGE size (more than double my usual 16oz pack). It does say to keep it at room temperature in an airtight container after opening and USE WITHIN 2 WEEKS! I know this is generally advised for freshness, I did move as much of the beans to a sealed glass jar, but still have 1/3rd of the beans in the bag since it's so large. The bag came with a Best By date 9 months out, which is great if you don't plan on opening it right away![+/-] the price (for the size and quality) isn't particularly expensive nor super competitive when compared to some other coffees I purchase, but this gets shipped to your door so may save you the trip to the store and restock your pantry easily!Overall, a great tasting coffee that I can recommend for most coffee lovers!

Nice espresso notes but a bit lacking in body
I'm not generally an espresso drinker: I usually make myself Veranda Blend cold-brew lattes (strong brew of a lighter roast), so take my comments with that large grain of salt. For a darker roast this is pleasant. Strong sour/dark roast overtones with a nice long finish when brewed in a French press. What I'm missing is the body: it seems all top notes and bottom notes without the chocolate middle that I like. Perhaps it's aimed more at dark dark chocolate lovers.Still, it says something that I would be content drinking this black: it's a nice coffee!

Very good coffee for the price
We mostly drink a pre-ground, budget-friendly, mass-market coffee that is a well-known long-seller in the US. This is a bit of a step up in terms of richness and flavor. We just make it in our standard drip coffeemaker, so unfortunately not able to try it out in an espresso machine, as I had hoped (last machine is broken, still deciding on what to get next). It is a medium roast and lines up with others we've tried. I can't really speak to different tasting notes or whatever, but it has a good, rich flavor to it that is more earthy/nutty than the fruity/winey one we usually drink. It's a nice change of pace overall and if you don't mind grinding your own beans it's a good choice. 100% arabica beans, which is pretty standard, nice and fresh, and again, rich and flavorful.

Decent medium-medium dark beans
I mostly drink pre-ground drip coffee. It's just more convenient than other methods. I do occasionally treat myself with more time consuming cups. These beans ground to about the size of coarse table salt, and brewed with a moka pot at a 1:10 ratio makes for quite a good cup. Rich, full flavor with just a hit of acidity.Value is about par for the course for a kilogram of decent beans.

It's a well-balanced medium roast espresso bean that's low acid and slightly sweet
These espresso beans are really good value for what you get. It's 2.2 lb of 100% arabica medium rose espresso beans. I did not expect to get as good of a crema on my espresso pulls as I'm nowhere near experienced and good at consistent espresso making, but this produced great espresso! It's a medium roast rather than a extremely dark roast, so adjust your grind size and experiment with your machine's settings to ensure you get a proper extraction. It's great that it's a low acid coffee so it sits well and I found it to be the perfect blend of the roasted notes that can be bitter but also the slight caramelly sweetness. It's pretty well balanced. That you can get a little over 2 lb of this good of beans for less than 20 is outstanding to me. Recommended

Decent Coffee.
Ordered this Espresso Beans, Medium Roast, 100% Arabica Beans coffee to try it out as it seemed reasonably priced. However, it is a bit bitter for my taste personally. I will most likely continue to stick to 100% columbian beans coffee which I have always ultimatley preferred.

Tastes like coffee you get in Italy
This whole bean medium roast coffee comes in a huge 2 pound bag. The scent gives off a mild coffee smell that is not overpowering. I made it 2 ways black and then with almond creamer/ almond froth. Drinking it just plain black it has a nice/good expresso taste to it. My father ( who is Italian) mentioned it tasted like expresso he use to drink in Italy. He loved it said it was great. I preferred it with the creamer as I like a sweet coffee. I like that it is a low acid coffee so it won't upset my stomach. You can skip the coffee shop and brew your own at home and get the same great taste with this stuff.
