Which is better, this one or TetraColor PLUS Tropical Flakes

There is not a meaningful difference if you look at the ingredients and guaranteed analysis. I use the TetraColor because I am trying to get the pigment on my fish to pop a little brighter and I think this food does a nice job of that. You cannot go wrong with any Tetra food in my opinion.

how many flakes should i feed to 3 neon tetras and 3 guppies?

I have about 20 guppies and isually feed five to seven flakes smashed with my fingers to them. After ten minute I add bit more. I do this two to three times a day.

How well would this work with my african cichlids? I noticed some varying factors from the omega one cichlid flake.

I would not use this for African cichlids. Use a higher quality food for them such as Cobalt or Spectrum or even better, Norhfin.
