THE best for on the job.
This is just the best thought out pencil on the job. The green lead is my favorite. Shows up on everything. Really great product.

Don't forget about the sharpener
This has been real nice when marking up sheets of drywall to cut. It's really nice how thick and sturdy the lead is. It really holds up nice on osb subfloor. The other refill colors also work well in different surfaces that normal lead doesn't write on like wet metal. Don't forget about the built in sharpener on the bottom of the holder.

Not perfect for my tile
My rating is based on a tile job I did in our shower which came out great.Due to the wavy uneven surface of our particular tile the crayons wanted to break and I was sharpening them quite often.I was able to develop a technique to reduce this affect to a minimum but it does require concentration while maintaining a firm push.Once the mark was on the tile it stayed on during the wet sawing extremely well. I thought it would be hard to get off afterwards but no, not at all, pretty amazing little device. I found that my fingers worked the best to erase the marks. If it worked on my kind of tile it would be even better on the more typical tile out there which I am planning to try in near future.Based on this and interchangeability with other crayons and graphites for many uses not just tiles and that easy to use integrated sharpener I am very glad I purchased this product.

Great for bowling pro shops!
I use to use these in metal fab and auto body work. Anybody who has ever dealt with the frustration of the terrible pencils used in bowling pro shops, knows it's aweful experience. The thought came to me that the 4040 lead would actually work for marking bowling balls. I was absolutely correct! This is literally the ONLY and BEST option. The lead doesn't break everytime it touches the ball. Don't have to deal with lead breaking 5 times every time I have to sharpen it. The lines are almost as precise as scribing. Have told every pro shop operator about this. Sure they'll be picking some up soon.

Pricey but a good marker.
Rather pricey for a marker. Like the different color grease pens so you can choose which works best for your marked material. I used this for marking floor tile to be cut with a wet saw. The mark does in fact survive the wet saw. Two caveats, it won't draw on an already wet tile, you have to dry the tile off first. Two, it won't mark a polished tile at all. Good marker, not great.

Great marking device and holder.
Wish I knew about these years and years ago. Well worth the price. Grab the refills and you are all set. Might buy a few more to put around different areas of my house as I do projects.

Great marking tool
Hands down better than using a carpenter pencil. Nice to have a holder that you can clip on and have stay put. Built in sharpener. Used with the color lead to mark cuts on a tile install. Markings held up well even when using a wet saw. Also fits comfortably in hand

Best product
Do not waste your money on the imitations and the generics. Pica dry’s Are worth the little extra money they cost for both the pencils and the Refills. I’ve bought several other brands and the Pica’s are by far the best.
