My wife is in a later stage of Alzheimer’s and constantly fidgets with whatever she can get her hands on which sometimes can be messy, unhealthy, destructive, or dangerous. I purchased this pillow in hopes of keeping her hands busy, which it did, but even better is she loves this thing. She has it with her all the time fidgeting with the beads and zipper, she especially likes the ribbons. She even sleeps with it every night. For all the purchases that I have made for my wife to help her through the course of the disease this is the one we are the happiest with.

This has held up really well to my gma fidgeting , pulling , knotting and twisting things on it. It also helps quite well with keeping her hands warm. Items in this category for dementia and sensory are almost always really expensive but this one I am pleased with. Most things do not hold and have not held up to her and she has them torn apart in no time. We have had this one for quite awhile and the only part that hasn't lasted with her was the little ball inside she had that taken apart pretty quick. Pleased with this purchase.

Sadly, my Mom passed away only days after receiving this. 🥺. But for a brief moment she held it like a baby and fidgeted with the strings. I’m holding on to it for a future grandbaby or to give to another Alzheimers patient in the family if (God forbid) that comes along.

My grandmother has althiezmers/dementia, shes in the stage of putting things in her mouth. She also has neuropathy, it was difficult for her to grip the ball. She didn't find it difficult to rip off the buttons and put them in her mouth. She loved putting her hand in the muff part. We eventually had to take it from her though bc of the choking hazard. This was not a good pillow for our home, but it might be for others!

I bought this for my mother who is in a memory care unit. Another person commented about the buttons being loose but I checked everything out before taking it to her to be sure that it was safe for her- I found nothing loose or inappropriate.She loves the loose ribbons and counting the beads and rings. She also likes unzipping the little coin purse, however she didn’t like the ball that was attached to the inside of the muff so she kept shoving it inside. I decided to replace the ball with a cute luggage tag that I got at Dollar Tree and sewed a purple (her new favorite color) keychain to the inside of the purse with a ribbon so that she can “find” something when she unzips it.I think this was a good investment for my mom at this stage of her life.
