Magic for Marigold

Sweet
Marigold’s sweet world reminds me of my great-grandmother.Grandma’s tiny house and yard were covered profusely with a variety of flowers, bushes, trees, and vegetables. Like Marigold, she was connected to, and appreciated, the simple beauties of earth and life. I enjoyed “participating” for a few hours in the beauty of days long past.

Another lovely book from Maud
It takes a few chapters to get the rythum of this book but it's worth it! I loved this charming read.

Reading was good- background music annoying!
Too much repetitive piano music in the background. It was very distracting. I couldn't finish the book!

Enjoyable
If you're someone who loves L. M. Montgomery you will enjoy this book. It is filled with many of the things that make her stories endearing: interesting characters and wonder-filled settings. Marigold Lesley is a character in her own right, full of heart and soul and lots of imagination. I would have given five stars because it was an enjoyable read, but other than the normal development occurring in children as they grow up there was not much character development. Marigold didn't seem to learn from her mishaps but kept repeating them. Another reason I didn't give five stars was because the story ended very abruptly as if Montgomery ran out of steam, or possibly didn't know herself where the story was going.

A Great L.M. Montgomery Book
This is a very good book by L. M. Montgomery. It is about a girl named Marigold's life in the Prince Edward Island countryside. The book is almost as fascinating as L. M. Montgomery's Emily series. There is not really a plot, but I still liked the book. I wish the book was started when Marigold was a little older, for a lot of the book she is six or seven. I enjoyed that the book says "like the Murrays down at Blair Water".

Very sweet story.
I love Lucy Maude Montgomery's books. This one was good, but the end was a little disappointing. There was no conclusion to the story, so it might have been a good book for a sequel. And maybe that was her plan at one time. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Delightful take of childhood and coming of age
I loved it all....reminded me of the girl I once was.Marigolds is brave, respectful and mindful of observing what happens around her. Wish I could read of what happened but the point of the story is what happens to us as children marks the adults we will become

Perfect happy place read
In these uncertain scary times it’s wonderful to be transported back to a simpler gentler world...beautifully written, a poetic escape.

A great read. I liked nearly all the characters and laughed and winced alternately at some of the predicaments Marigold finds herself in.

A love affair rekindled.
A trip down memory lane for me who first read this when I was 10 yrs old I am 85 yrs now and enjoyed the trip back to gentler times when the sun always seemed to shine even though there was a war on and I was an evacuee, who absolutely fell in love with the country side after living in a seaside town
